But from where I sit, both you and I have a lot more "personal" baggage to work through in this life than Trump to make Trump's "shortcoming" our own mission in life. I've learned a lot in this life from both Trump and Biden but I'm not going to spend my precious lifetime paying for their shortcoming when I have so many of my own to work on: which I do every day. Wasn't it just today the Pope was saying adultery was a lower level sin all things considered? Should Trump be commended for his infidelities' and social transgressions? That's his personal burden, I choose not to make it my own and I am surprised you've chosen to make it yours... ...don't you have more serious things immediately relating to your own life to deal with? Your obsession with Trump only keeps you away from your own appointed tasks and opportunities. In my world, God is much more about "giving" than taking away that which is already presented. I hardly know who you are ao because you spend so much time ragging on others for their "shortcomings" and little time showing who you can really be in this lifetime. I'd like to see more about what you are becoming than in your tendency to blame others that don't meet your own very high standards of a life well lived. To be honest, JTRIV, I for the same reason,. I cannot understand why women would support a thing that brags about sexual harassment. I'll be blunt. I've been raped. Trump is filth. Anything that supports that THING openly supports rape culture. If a woman allows a comment like that to slide as if it's acceptable, for that matter if a man allows a comment like that to slide and ignores it, it's worth asking why. The way phrased is a border zone. For someone who ahs been through the worst, it can bring back trauma. For someone who hasn't, sometimes asking in the most brutal, blunt way possible might put into perspective that they have come to see fellow humans as expendable rape pieces. Women who support filth like him can't get around the fact that they have let their fellow women down as expendable rape pieces. Doesn't matter if he has ANYTHING else going for him, and he does NOT. He's endangered our military, rolled back environmental protections, and basically destroyed America with his rhetoric (the only caveat there is that the undercurrents were already there and would have been there for any manipulator to exploit, so America was already close to destruction anyway, in that respect I don't lay it entirely at his door). You let things like rape comments slide, it shows that you consider women expendable. You let things like his releasing of classified information to the masses and Russia slide, you show that you consider our soldiers expendable. You show that you're willing to sacrifice America in order to support....WHAT? I can't think of a single good thing that he's promoted. From hi9s own lips, he has supported all things that most people would normally consider absolute evil, that even the church, however troubled it is spoke out against until he came along. Again, asked the way it was is borderline, it can do damage if someone has already been harmed. I've been there, I know first hand how harmful that commentary CAN be. But frankly by supporting him, she's supporting that very commentary being made to and about women. If she supports that rhetoric, she's not going to be magically exempt or protected from it. And that last comment lies at the border of victim blaming, too. There is a line, but when you turn a blind eye to rhetoric, and it expands to be directed at you because you failed to stand against it when it wasn't....well. If that lack of speaking up was a matter of fear, then to accuse her of support WOULD be victim blaming and wrong. But she clearly had no fear, clearly supported a THING who thinks that women should be treated in that manner. What this long post has succeeded in doing is bringing to the surface a lot of bad memories, and the reactive and dark mindset that comes with it, so what you will be getting out of this is a break from my posts in order to try to mitigate the damage that supporters of Trump's rape rhetoric trigger in me. You do harm to us, Karen does harm to rape victims, by supporting that filth. You support Trump, you support rape and soldier killing plain and simple. There's no separating whatever good you think you see in the lying sack of filth from the evil he promotes. You support the evil by supporting him. It's why I feel almost as dirty in supporting Biden. That is evil by my standards too, he is also a supporter of rape culture and racist by his actions, but everything he's done, trump has been exponentially worse. Unfortunately in supporting Biden, I place myself by my standards in the same camp as those of you who support trump despite his rape rhetoric. That is I am a traitorous sack of filth. Supporters of Trump, more so. A lesser betrayal of America is still being a traitor, and we are collectively traitors by allowing people like Trump or Biden to hold power. I'm going to be out of commission the next few days when this hits full force. It's funny, how the mind partitions things. I do usually manage to keep that partition up, to see people like you and Karen as human despite your support of Trump, but once you actively remind me that you support a thing that supports rape culture...every decency I respect in you and others gets tarnished, and over the next several day, one of the reasons I'm stepping offline is because I'm not for a while, until I get that disassociate partition back up, be able to consider you or Karen or others, even human. I agree with you on DT. I also know the extremity of my words above are unfair to both JTRIV and Karen. If I consciously disassociate to be able to bear voting for Biden, then they're probably doing some disassociate mental acrobatics (Conscious or unconscious) to be able to advocate for Trump. I have to extend at least the same acceptance to that as I do to myself. Which granted isn't much, I don't like it and detest it in myself, I just don't see a viable working alternative (well, I can see many, but when you have to account for the collective and who those in power have chosen for us to vote for....well....). I'm leaving it at this for now. I'm lurking but still in a crappy and extremely over-judgmental angry despairing mental state, so it's best to post as little as possible for the time being. I struggle with a lot along these lines as well as may be evident... ;) And FWIW...if I could just respectfully offer from my own notes, that if you find it's possible to breathe a little open space around that energy of detesting inclinations in yourself that may not represent what you see as your highest/best choices in any given moment, that might very well serve your process in some powerful and effective ways... ;) It certainly has mine...
