Now I wake from a good night’s rest, to this? First, thank you to Dan who attempted to let this rest. Second, to Akira, yes your comment was rude and intended to be so. As a poster, I expressed my opinion about the continuing battle between Israel and Palestine. I even went so far as to explain how my opinion had changed through the years and why. I am allowed an opinion, as is anyone. You did not like my opinion, but instead of debating me with your viewpoint, you attacked me personally and opened the door for others to do so as well. Debate the facts, debate the opinion even, with facts and persuasion of your own. But attacking the person is the lowest form of reaction in my opinion. As for being a journalist, that was written to explain how I (and anyone) can vet a news organization and their voices. There are things to watch for, a twist of a phrase, how the article can be filled with the basic true news story, but then the author uses subtle and subliminal processes to persuade the reader into believing everything they write is the true story, when it is not. Deceptive and not journalistic standard in a news piece. I have spent years pointing these kinds of things out to Boppin readers. Because I care about truth, not because I want or need to win an argument. As for Jim (JTRIV), the definition for crusade is: “A series of military expeditions made by Europeans...” or “a vigorous campaign for political social or religious change.” As I was posting on a “war on truth” in this country and a fight for our democracy, a crusade seems quite appropriate. You are the one who made it left versus right, as I explained I stand with left right and those the middle, against the lies and propaganda going on in our country right now. I have explained the reference to journalist above and of course you know, even a journalist has the right to an opinion. This is Boppin, not the Wall Street Journal. There is a difference between journalistic writing and referring to journalistic writing. Karen, you know our history here. The definition of doublespeak: “language that deliberately obscures, disguises or reverses the meaning of words.” It is interesting here. I challenge your words and statements, that many times are parroted from other sources, sources that are deliberate in their deceptions to you and others. Yet you see me in doublespeak. Look again. I will continue to speak up here on Boppin. I have tried to example a way to discuss topics, focusing on facts and express my point of view, without name calling or personal attacks, as I have right here in this response to these current posts on the tech board. I meant my reference to “mean girls” yesterday. Making personal attacks is mean, a bully tactic. I realize sometimes people flare. It is an emotional human trait. But when people choose to gang up on one person, that is deliberate. If anyone wants to actually debate ideas, learn to use the power of your words wisely, to grow something, an idea, a concept, a clarification. Instead of tearing down others. Words have power. |

Gonna have to call bullshit on that etc. Almost everything you post is on the left versus right narrative with your allegiance clearly on the left. For example in your call for censorship with the subject of "Tools*" you talked about both "extreme right wing online news sites" and "Why would the right". Almost everything you've ever posted has been in the left versus right narrative. Last year when I brought up the bad behavior of those on the left you stood up for them in the fight against evil as though your political feelings justified this bad behavior. You actually said "And I should ignore the fact that Red posts from a conviction" as if Red's trolling other posters was justified because she did it with conviction. That is why I first said it sounded like you thought of politics as a crusade against the evil right. And that trolling is relevant as just last week someone posted a news story that was in fact true but both Red and Dan trolled it attacking the source and Dan posted over and over on everything but the news story itself. The bad behavior from you lefties is still happening. As a "journalist" I'm surprised you didn't join in as I would have thought a journalist would have a strong opinion on how the mainstream media and the fact checkers all came together calling the COVID-19 lab origin theory a "fringe conspiracy theory" that had been "debunked" when we now know that wasn't true. As for back postings, people can either check them for themselves or if the posts are gone, watch further posts for confirmation on whether your picks and choosing-s are a valid representation of my views. PS I was pretty sure you wouldn’t let go of this. That is your pattern, isn’t it? My posts show I am certainly tenacious on the facts, not bullying personally. If you want a discussion on lab origin, start a thread and those who want to discuss it with you will. |

But you said you are a journalist and it is quite logical to wonder what a journalist thinks about a situation where the mainstream media, social media and fact checkers were all united behind something that was absolutely false. That is in no way "baiting" you. Your statement that you are a journalist struck many as odd because of your extreme political activism, lack of objectivity and I find it curious you didn't step in to give a journalist's perspective on the failure of media to accurately inform us in this one situation. It is all your choice... but people who have read your what you have posted for years were a bit shocked by the journalist claim. Cheers Jim |

Jim, you have a history here, and I invite people to read your postings and decide for themselves. Your style and turn of a word will fit some, not others I expect. I noticed you did not start your own thread on National, but instead chose to continue your diatribe on me. Honestly, I’m not that interesting in retrospect ;) PS I know you can keep this up for another 2 dozen posts or so. Do you really know why? |
