...so what?
I have every confidence etc can run circles around me
and everyone else here if she wished. Hopefully
Akira's comment will encourage her to do just that,
just as your sometimes rude comments to me encourage me
to try harder...
...and I do, every day, every post.
...trying to get even isn't nearly as productive as
trying to get better.
It's really your choice, get mad and hurt, or get
better and feel good for the improvement.
A lot of great posters here have gone down hill in
their skills and effectiveness lately...
...Akira is the exception... I respect that...
...I'm still trying.
I stopped trying to persuade others to my point of view
years ago, and took the attitude this was a perfect
environment to work on my own communication skills that
obviously were lacking if so many people despised what
I had to say.
I'm still trying and I certainly enjoy the opportunity
to be an active part of this rather interesting
experiment.
A "thick skin" has been an enormous asset.
I don't agree with everything JTRIV has said over the
years, but he has helped to make me a much better
communicator...
...as have your own comments.
Just because the joke is on "you" sometimes, doesn't
mean it still isn't really funny as all get out. I
learned that a long time ago.
I'm posting a copy of this on the tech board if anyone
wants to comment.

It was a rude comment, and on one hand I regret it. I admit I sometimes
show a lack of discernment and tack.
One the other hand, I don't. Regarding my ".. lack of empathy and severe
callousness..", that is exactly how I'd characterize etc's recent posts
regarding Israel's latest scourge of Palestinians. Etc's complete lack of
understanding & empathy was striking & disturbing to me, especially by
someone who claims to be a journalist.

Yes. I have been the subject of her wordy attacks in the
past. She should write a book on double speak.

I didn't really comment on the "I'm a journalist"
thing, but it was rather shocking to hear someone who
speaks of the political left versus right battle as a
crusade, good versus evil and promotes censorship
claiming to be a journalist. But possibly that just
shows my age as there was a time when being a
journalist meant a certain amount of objectivity,
something I've never seen in etc.
