No, there was a time when people of differing views did post to this website but that was long ago. Folks on this board have become very intolerant to differing views and have attacked and harassed until other views are no longer represented here. This summer as the pack was extremely rabid I provided several examples of the trolling and bulling exhibited by the extreme leftists here. So what do the boppers think? But she is hardly representative of the 73 million which was my point. I don't do politics... but I'm sure there are forums with many people that lean to the right... without being neoNazis or Holocaust deniers. They7 just don't participate here... ...as one of many who've been here from the beginning... The owner of the site, Mr. Bopp, has always made its guidelines and boundaries pretty clear in a couple areas of the FAQ section...easy to find at bottom of Main Menu. Along with doing his best to hold a line differentiating between stating one's position, and attacking someone stating an opposing view...in practice, except for a few gifted souls who still manage it, this has obviously become dicier and dicier over time with passions so high and everything feeling so immediately and ultimately personal. Any road, aside from that, he's also always said right up front that he reserves the right to edit any posts that, along with obvious affrontery like porn and overt violence, in his words "do not pass muster as to what is palatable to the moderator"... So. That's clear as a bell. ;) As the board's owner, it's his own subjective sensibility that calls the bottom line on what remains posted on his own site or doesn't...and it's never ceased to amaze me how some here seem to feel they have some kind of "right" or "case against" that reality, simply because they don't *like his right to do so* or how he enacts it... ;) That being said, that I know of there's not been more than one or two posters who have ever been permanently banned from this site. I think many more rightwise folk have retreated simply in frustration that they've been unable to convince more leftwise folk of the veracity of where they're coming from...which is nothing but where & how the tide of masse consciousness, or the trajectory of human evolution/devolution, however you want to describe it, happens to be turning at any given moment...and especially as it's shifting now... ;) So...apologies to Mr. Bopp if I've misstated anything here in any way, please do correct me...and I don't know if that answers your question, Thelma, but I hope it helps... ;) Best to you... |

Thelma if you are a real person and not just someone using a new name you are advised to avoid any political discussion here... especially if you don't lean waaaay left. The lefties here have a little group that will troll you and attack your sources and try to drive you away. And as you noticed... it worked. These folks do not believe if free and open discussion and have no tolerance for any views other than their own. They tend to prefer an echo chamber. I did a few experiments this year to demonstrate that. In one case a poster was trolling those with different views by attacking their sources based on some left leaning armchair media bias dude. Hi Thelma, Yes, this is a left leaning site. Over the years they have chased off or just banned those who are not lefties. If you aren't a lefty I recommend avoiding politics here. Otherwise you will be harassed and if you attempt to say anything back to your harassers you will have your posts removed and then banned. To many here it is a cause... a crusade if you will and they justify all their bad behavior with the conviction of their cause.
