It did change today and I had a update day or so before
that. But it did not happen yesterday.

Did it require you to download? I think though the change messed with the bookmark
addy I was using because that bookmark now requires a download...yet when I bypass
that by typing it in I don't have to download anything. I did notice some of the
changes Brian spoke of also like bigger dots and map options. I will eventually fix
it in my bookmarks...I have to force the technical layperson out in myself when I need
to, it's not my strong point....I do the least I have to so to get by, it's my lack of
patience with it :0)~ I just had a challenging couple of days too with the weather
and my personal barometer, so when the storms calm down I will have more patience with
the computing gizmo stuff.

I got an update from windows. Do you use windows?
THis is for my computer. It sent me two updates within
a weeks time. And after the second update and as of
today I noted usgs is different. But not after the
first update. Updates are downloaded automatically but
they ask first and then I go in and can adjust things.

Thank you for answering my question and sharing your
experience of the USGS update. I don't use windows so
there is a difference in that also.

I see they updated the web app. But I wasn't faced with
a download requirement.

I do see improvements.

Most appreciated is no longer being bugged that more
than 2000 quakes may be too much for my machine to
handle. It's an i7-9750H 4.0ghz 6 cores with an RTX2060
graphics card. I could likely handle 2 million quakes
displayed just fine.

Although, they've made the dots bigger.... they were
plenty big enough. I would have preferred even smaller
especially when displaying large numbers of events.

I like that they moved some map options out of the side
bar and into pull down menus right on the map.

I do see an option to install an app into supported
browsers and an install button for that.

There is a download button at the bottom of the left
side bar that lists the quakes. But that's always been
there. It's to download the list of quakes displayed.

Brian

It happened in my bookmarks but I can query USGS and get
the page for the earthquakes as usual but my bookmarks bar
still reads "download". I'll figure it out eventually.

Thanks for responding and sharing what you notice and like
regarding the features.
