...and how you used to replay them to verify what you

...I'd be interested in knowing what type of shows they
were, like commentary on current events etc.

...back in the Vietnam era I had a good friend that
moved to Vancouver, BC to avoid the draft and landed a
job with CHQM FM and did a Saturday night Jazz program
featuring interviews he conducted with visiting jazz
musicians that traveled to the area and performed.
Over the years he saved the interviews and is now in the
process of archiving them.
It's become a lifetime project.
Are you still doing programs?

...I imagine there are a lot of sources for Jazz on the
internet now that were not available earlier although
when I was involved in KVMR the open format was as much
to bring out talent in new broadcasters as it was for
the audience.
Ironically, I chose not to have a program of my own...
...I waited for you to come along with Earthboppin for
those honors.
