When I first started posting on a regular basis, many people here welcomed me and said I could post whatever I want, as long as it's not Porn, or illegal. Now anything I post is immediately discredited, attacked, and in many cases just plain nasty. It is a war zone now, and once nice people like me, have ourselves become defensive and nasty. Maybe everyone could be allowed to post what they want, without the Trolls discrediting anything they don't like. Maybe just "Do Not Reply" if you don't like it. Like I said so eloquently, but it got removed, we all see things differently, and we all think Fake News is on/from the other side. We can't stop that, but you can stop the Troll attacks on posts the opposition don't want to be heard, or believed. PS, that would include you. Thank You, Jeff |

About halfway down the page. It was an excellent overview back in our earliest days here, and IMHO it remains one. And you know, I missed something I should've included to you in my post below to everyone. I did *get* your suggestion of implementing a "Do not reply if you disagree" or "only resonant opinions welcome* type of guideline or rule, here...and to be honest (as if you couldn't tell), among other things you said it really pissed me off. Do you know why? It's because you've verbally- weaponized the derogatory term "echo chamber" so relentlessly around here (of course, only when "liberal" views are ebbing) in an attempt to invalidate and discredit whatever's been shared that similar orientations chime in with. As if it was some violation of your personal esthetics and values to witness a bunch of people agreeing with something you don't, and you're going to break their echo-chamber illusions with your "ultimate truth"... Gadzooks, man, seriously...your level of venom in this regard has been huge... So now...here you come wondering if maybe it's time we manage to *not discredit one another* by...creating our separate respective echo chambers on the National board? ;-> Doesn't that word "discredit" actually translate to "offering evidence that supports any belief that opposes your own"? Hmm...couldn't we maybe just be KINDER? Like, ALL of us? Like...maybe running through the words of a draft post and asking, "Is this KIND?" ;-> Could be an interesting challenge for some... I know I'm sucking at it sometimes, but it IS possible to speak one's truth without being unkind...even in the heat of moral outrage and offense, as we see it...lol...and I'm working on it. Dunno if that fits into your equation of this, though.. ;-> Best to you... |

Rewind...lol...yeah, never knew of Jeff writing any kind of piece on how we all see things differently, that he referred to, as some kind of Overview; I only knew of the one Mark wrote years ago on the FAQ page, which I'd always thought was great. And yes...*sigh*...be it as it may, perhaps because within my own limited context of experiencing these two human beings, here on this forum through their posts, they feel very, very similar energetically to me...while of course being entirely unique in their own right...my perceptual wires crossed... ;D I also can't see worth shit right now...lol...and I'm reading THESE big block letters telling me perhaps I should refrain from posting here until I can read clearly...? I think that way Shadow because Ive been reading this forum for at least 5 yrs usually on a daily basis and if I could make a suggestion,if you feel the dialogue is ad nauseaum,maybe let it go...Overinflating a situation and the responding somewhat overdramatically to it really isnt healthy.. |
