I posted something online and it had my first and last
name on the post even though I know I never entered my
name. I thought it was only going to post my email
address.
I think Google is the only place I have ever entered my
whole name. I try to avoid it. How can I reenter
Google and delete my last name or at least enter an X ?

There are certain sites, Disqus being one example among
many, where if you enroll through your email account it
will take your personal information associated with
your email account and apply it to the newly made one.
The sites that grab your own personal info from your
email will usually gather info from your contacts list,
too.

I have heard of Disqus but I don't think I am enrolled.
I try to avoid linking everything that is so popular to
do these days.
It's bad enough that Google and FB know as much as they
do about us without volunteering more information.

it is most likely saved in a cookie in your browser preferences...you should be able to delete individual cookies in your browser's preference panel for them...

I went to Settings, History, Clear Browsing Data, and
then Search Engines........cleared those as well.
But my last name still appears.
Any other suggestions?

When clearing browser history, make sure that the box to clear autofill form data is checked.

I went to CCleaner and I used that to clean the
cookies, history and Registry but my last name still
pops up.
I am going to try to reset my name on Google if it will
allow me to do that. Perhaps it 'picked up' my name
along the way.
I would love to delete FB as well, but so few others
are willing to follow through as well and there are a
few commercial sites I follow that are not changing
either...(sites on dreams and remote viewing, stock
market, crypto coins).

Hi Raymond, I am assuming that you are having this problem on a site other than earthboppin.
If clearing auto-fill form data doesn't fix it, maybe the site is using data that you provided when you registered? See if you can update your info for that site on the sites registration page or personal info pages. Or, maybe you can re-register with a fake name.
Another possibility is that you are automatically logging into the site using Facebook (or other social media). You might want to turn that off.

Yes, thanks........it was on Patreon.
I cleaned everything I could think of on my
laptop....Malware Bytes, Defender, Ccleaner....and
then I searched Google and Yahoo to reconfirm my
username there.
I recently registered for Patreon so that was the key
factor. I searched settings on Patreon and I saw my
last name there. I swear I did not enter it. I never
use my complete name online. I have no problem using
my first name, but never my last.
It took a while to figure it out, but at least my
computer is clean and updated......lol
