I now have caller ID and lately I am getting calls from
research firms, but when I answer, I get a dead line. I
know that robo calls sometimes take awhile to connect but
I keep saying into the phone a loud hello over and over
again but then i get dissconnected. any ideas why?

It is still a robo call, there just weren't any operators
to pick up after you did.

I've been having strange words come out of my mouth, lol
2 recent examples -
a man, a bully man pretending to be a police officer
basically demanding that i donate money
he was loud and brutish
I kept saying, 'sir, let me speak'
finally, he paused and without even thinking
I said, "Sir, I'm as poor as a church mouse and
I'm living on air." LOL We both hung up
Just a few minutes ago, Labor Day, 6:24 PM
phone.. at first she did not say a word after i said hello
then she started to say something about auto insurance..
lol..and i said these words.."Don't you know that today is
a HOLIDAY? You should not be working now!"
and I hung up

ya, that pisses me off!....mostly I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the ID or am expecting a call...but once in awhile I answer and keep saying 'hello' like you said, then nothing...and then they call again and again...arghh!...

Sometimes they will do that to record what time you
are answering your phone and to know what time to call
you.
