with my computer?
They work fine with my boom box.
But can't get them to work with my sound on the computer.
Have neighbors upstairs, young kids, that can't stand music. Not talking during our apartment quiet hours between 10 PM and 8 AM. I cut off at 9 PM, and really only play music sporadically. But apartments are not very insulated.
Any ideas why they won't work with my computer?

There are some suggestions in this forum about getting sound from the headphone jack. One thing is to check the Control Panel - Hardware and Sound – Sound. Make sure the sound is on (adjust volume for device and applications) and that there’s a workable driver. On my laptop I have Windows Default. Also it uses the Realtek driver. In Realtek Driver Manager I can select the volume.for speaker and microphone.
Installing Windows 10 sometimes gives Device problems. Fry’s Electronics would probably fix the problem. One of the main reasons I messed up at my job with L- at W- is because I was completely lost in PC hardware. All my success in applications programming down the drain because I messed up system software and hardware. Fortunately I was able to move back to the main company in Portland around 2000 and help code Dispatch, Warehouse and Job Costing programs which kept me working for 15 more years.

Make sure anything you see on the computer has the sound turned ON.
So often I'll watch something only to have to click their little volume button onscreen.
Just a thought.
