Windows10 download button appeared on my computer today. I am currently using Windows7 (which I like). Has anyone downloaded this Windows10, or are familiar with it? I am told this is a limited time offer and I may be sorry if I pass it by and keep windows7. thanks Judy

I had warned about this on some other board. Hold on to 7 as long as you can, they do this spiel with every roll out, all kinds of, doom for not upgrading. Meh. I ignored the windows 8 crap, a very widely hated platform. Never regretted either. My elderly neighbor calls me all the time for help on her new computer with 8 installed, a maddening system to use. 10 is being pushed as the answer to 8, but they need lots of actual users to actually USE it to figure out the shortcomings.
No thanks, someone else can be the guinea pig.

Don't change a thing. Any time you do that, you could loose important stuff. And it will be a nightmare.
The old saying will always stand, If it's not broke don't fix it.
If it is broke, buy a sweet Mac book pro. You'll never ever go back to Microsoft.

I don't know I had that but they are (computer land folks or whomever) to integrate all the systems like i-pads, I-pods, smart-phones and this thingy and that thingy all together and I got caught in the crosshairs and I could get onto my banking page but their IS changed the systems to integrate all these computing thingies and now I can't get on and says I need a new browser. Yet for five days I got on without a new browser. They say google chrome...I said I have that. Then they say safari...I said it does not even show anymore and I left it cause without warning they just did something to it it quit working and folks switched to Chrome. Then they said firefox...I said don't think so, their firewall took down a lap top I had. I am not even sure what a browser is, reminds me of eye brows...but I know what it does but could not put it in a techy manner. Even that not well. I did not even know there was a windows 10. I hate to download any updates as it usu. makes things go bonkers for me, but not always. Last I heard I thought we were at the 8th window...when we get to 12 will it be the midnight portal?
Sorry, no help....just venting.
Hope you get help figuring it out. I have a apple and they wanted me to pay for one of the apps and I said I don't think so. That maybe part of my issue but I smelled a rat and that occurred awhile back so I am a bit like you. Thing is if most all changes and one does not one gets left behind, but it's hard to know they doing these window things so fast....they remind me of portals. I still think little aliens are watching folks via t.v., computers and such...even the geek squad fella embarrassingly admitted it had crossed his mind. I put a sticker over the cam lens, but they probably have other ways. The cloud, I aught to have known better...don't even know what it is really.
Most of us depend on it though...oh mercy.

Eve, I had Chrome and it was a nightmare to navigate the games on POGO. Firefox same thing. I guess I will go down with the Window's 7 ship when Microsoft sinks it. I keep looking at the little window at the bottom of my screen, and can not work up the courage to click on it. Your stories do resonate with me. My main problem with this is, "why, is windows10 by Microsoft trying to be so nice to me, and warning me it is only for a short time? Like a used car salesman's mantra. lol thanks for your input Judy

Thanks for the response as well Judy. Nice to know I am not the only perplexed one.
I was sorta thinking about a book or pad cause maybe it's better and not such and expense. I don't use all the bells and whistles anyway...I just take a look around. I don't do videos, so to have this is kinda maybe more than I should have done.
Far as I know no windows things have changed but when other folks change apps it is hard to jive all of it no matter what browser...but I am leery of most of them now. Puters...another advennture to never never land.
May fairer sailing come soon for us one and all, the waves are getting kinda choppy on the sea of the net.

Switch to Linux. It's free and there are hundreds of versions to choose from.
I only have XP for my programming.
