I just had the same issue. Posted and it said "go to your message" and I did and it showed up but it's not showing up on the board and that was about 20 minutes ago. Just reposted so will see if it shows up this time.
Of course maybe bopp just lets the post show up that he wants to like the one calling me a bloodthirsty bitch because I have different political views than some on this board...lol...just kidding bopp...kinda...lol

This isn't anything mysterious or nefarious. It's a "feature" of your browser.
In the old days of slow dial up, browsers were designed to cache (save a copy of) webpages you go to so that the next time you go to it, instead of waiting 30 seconds for the page to load, it loads the copy off your drive in 3 seconds.
Problem is, if the page changes you might not see it unless you clear the cache or do a forced reload.
Today, with high speed connections the only reason caching is useful is simply to save bandwidth and server load.
But the same problem still remains about seeing an old copy. In the old days and today this is usually handled by part of the data being transferred between the browser and server that says "this page was last updated on day at time", and the browser is supposed to check it's cache to see if it's a newer copy or not. If what it has cached is older, it downloads the new version. Otherwise it just displays the cached version.
However, this doesn't always work, depending on the website and the server it's on and the browser. Sometimes it's even caching on the server's side.
Do a google search for "forced reload" and the name of your browser. You should find instructions on how to do a forced reload for the next time this happens.

I don't think that's it. Usually my posts show up as soon as I hit refresh, but the last few days some have and some have not. The one I mentioned did not show up for almost 30 minutes and that was with me leaving the page, going to another website, and then coming back here and also with hitting refresh several times. I haven't had issues until the last few days...

There's a difference between "refresh" and "forced refresh". (aka "reload" and "forced reload")
Which did you do? If it was just a normal refresh or reload, it won't necessarily bring up the new page.
I'm speaking from experience. I've had it happen on this site. A regular reload doesn't always show the updated thread after I post, but a forced reload has never failed me.

I understand what you are saying "but" why would things change just in the last several days and it hasn't changed in a consistent manner. I've been posting here for years and never had this problem until very recently...and it's not consistent which is why it's bugging me...lol

I don't always have the problem, either. Lately I've NOT had the problem here.
Might I suggest clearing the browser cache? Corrupted cache files have been known to cause havoc on occasion. Even if you happen to have your browser set to wipe the cache on closing, Murphy happens.
But, it may not be on your end at all. We've all experienced weird things on EB. I've even had odd stuff happen on my own sites.
I've had all sorts of weird browser problems over the decades. If they were consistent, they'd be easy to resolve. As complex as the internet, computers, operating systems, and software are becoming, it's amazing to me that it works at all!! I know electronics and programming, so you'd think understanding how it works would make me dismiss such notions. But it's still amazing that we can build such machines and make them work. Understanding the technology actually awes me at times.

...I clean my cache all the time (almost obsessive about it...lol) and I have noticed that when the posts don't show up on "refresh" they will if I clean the cache...
...it's just new. Could be due to a software upgrade I suppose...
