Does anyone know if the win cleaner (plugs into computer) is any good. Husband saw advertisement on TV for $19.99,It presents itself as "just a one click PC cleaner called WIN clean. He wants it, I am afraid of it. Input would be helpful. I belong to consumer reports they have nothing on this product. Judy

I know it has been a while since you posted this but yeah........it's useless.
There are a lot of free things online that do the same thing. CNET has a lot of free downloads and if they are a safe place to download programs. They screen their site regularly for viruses etc...
I would suggest Defragging your computer from time to time, deleting your history, and cleaning your C drive.
I also have CCleaner, ABP: Ad Block Plus.....they stop the popup advertisements.
I also have Malware Bytes I downloaded from CNET.
I also have Kapersky antivirus........which I bought from Best Buy.
And don't forget to set your computer so it downloads updates from MSFT when they are released, so you don't miss anything.
Anyhow, I don't have any problems...none major anyhow.

CCleaner is a really good computer cleaner to have. I have it on this computer and my mom has it on her computer. It's free to download. The free version is more than adequate for most home computer users.
CCleaner has a built in registry cleaner that fixes or removes broken registry entries.

I've never used such software, and have never heard of this one specifically, but it didn't take me but a minute googling to confirm my suspicions.
Specific to WinCleaner: http://wnep.com/2014/11/13/does-it-really-work-win-cleaner/
Windows cleaning software in general: http://www.howtogeek.com/162683/pc-cleaning-apps-are-a-scam-heres-why-and-how-to-speed-up-your-pc/
They don't really work. And you can do on your own what they claim to do for you. Further, I'd be suspicious of it installing unwanted software on your system.
