The forum software has no provision (zero, zilch, nada) for putting up ads or pop ups. It's just NOT in the software.

Do you have underlined text in the middle of messages? That one is caused by some add-on or toolbar you've added to your browser.

But odds are, it's on your end.

Glad you found it and all is well. Just be careful what you download and where you download it from.

Perhaps surprisingly, your friends are the ones you need to watch the most. If they get infected and a virus or something emails itself to you, it appears to be coming from a friend and you tend to let your guard down.

Don't trust your friends. :(

At least, as far as your computer is concerned.

I had what is likely the same Trojan sounds like. Could have been from a link here perhaps, who knows. Wasn't too hard to get rid of thankfully. Is a relatively new one and good to get the word out to watch for it.
