Cheers

Have you tried clearing the browser cache?
If using Internet Explorer, disable "Work Offline."
Have you tried re-booting?

Hi ShakyD,

Yes, I'm a Firefox guy but tried IE also.

Not sure what the deal is since it works on the smartphone. I wonder
if Mr Bopp did something that restricts Comcast users??

Cheers

Jim

JTRIV,
It does sound like your IP address may have been blocked. Your phone will have a different IP when not
connected to your WIFI router.
Can you still post from your phone while connected through your WIFI?

BTW, I enjoy your posts. I have noticed that some do not, and appear to misinterpret some of what you say
as a personal attack, even though there is nothing personal in what you post. Maybe it is your writing
style. Dry and to the point. Much like an engineer, or someone who does a lot of technical writing. I have
noticed that people who are non-technical, and non-analytic have trouble with this style of writing.
But mostly, I think the problem is that they have made up their minds on a subject, and don't want to be
disturbed by contrary facts and analytical thinking.

Hi ShakyD,

Thanks for the kind words. I send many business E-mails
communicating technical issues to nontechnical people. My writing
style tends to be a bit formal I guess.

Yes, I think my IP is blocked. I tried putting my SmartPhone on my
wireless but no luck. Now it tells me incorrect password. Not sure
what is up, if Mr Bopp is booting me he should just say so.

Cheers

Jim

I think you OK Jim,

Quote from Bopp's June 11th post,

nickname…

There is a PROBLEM! Earthboppins ablity to display a
main sub page like Tech Support or any of the other main
sub pages is not working for some dumb reason unless he
desided to block access to most if not all of us. I can
get on by using the resent post files on the top of the
left hand page catagorys.

Everything seems to be working as normal for me.
I am using Win XP, with the Chrome browser. IE9 is working ok too.

If you are having problems, I suggest try clearing your browser cache, including cookies and hosted app data (if you have not already done so).
Also, if you have "Work Offline" turned on, disable it.

I Unplugged my Win XP desktop from the internet. Microsoft stopped
supporting it. I'm sure you know this already. But that was the best of all
programs Microsoft put out. I'm so pissed the nicked it.

I just use it for invoices and picture storage and such now. Totally stand
alone and off line. Can't trust any virus protection that supports it.

My advice? Stay a why from Microsoft, here on out. It's a mish mash of all
sorts of software from who knows where.

I have been playing with a few Linux distros, but I am still hooked on MS office products due to visual basic integration, so I am taking my chances with
Win-XP for a while longer, but plan to upgrade to Win-7 soon.
I bought a Win-7 OEM disk for $99 but once installed, you can't upgrade your motherboard without buying a new licence. My motherboard is about 9 years old,
so I am waiting until I buy a new motherboard, memory, and an SSD, then I will install clean on the new SSD.
As for Apple, used one at work for a while, but never liked it. I prefer the open architecture of a windows machine. (And an Android phone).

Linux boots fast, and works great for web surfing and photo editing, but I find myself booting back into Windows for the office products. However; I do get
more comfortable with Linux the more I use it.
Linux also beats windows for file and disc management.

WinXP can be and IS perfectly safe to keep using, if you don't do stupid things, which is what everyone should be doing anyway with EVERY OS. Just because MS isn't supporting it anymore doesn't mean your computer is going to suddenly explode.

It is my opinion based on observations of peoples "problems" (including those reported here) is that they do it to themselves. What I mean is, what people do with their computers is what is causing them to get infected and what not. For example, all the cutesy little toolbars and add-ons that you don't _really_ need are common vectors for viruses and trojans. That's just ONE example.

Learn to use a computer properly and how to protect yourself, and what to do and NOT do. Even when MS was supporting XP, people had problems BECAUSE they didn't use it right. So if your system goes south now, it probably would have gone south anyway even when MS was still supporting it.

MS can only fix errors they make, they can't fix yours.

Anyway, I am still using XP. Heck, I only stopped using W2K about 6 months ago. I have NEVER EVER had a problem.

Brian

ShakeyD;

There are Linux versions of MS Office and Wine will run many Windows programs too.

My solution is a dual boot system with XP isolated from my sensitive data. I only keep it because TrueBasic has no Linux version.

I have not had any problems what so ever, but I'm using a Mac. Hung up
the PC BS for good.

Only problem I have had is Imbedding a you-tube video.

Everything else looks and works great.

If I can help anymore, just call out.
