When I first click on a post here it reads correctly but in a few seconds, some of the words vanish.

My PC was slow, plagued by ads and had words vanishing from posts. Virus scans turned up nothing.

Then I decided to swap drives so I used SyncToy to copy all my C:\ files to the new one.

That's not the way to do it, so it wouldn't boot.

Reinstalled Win XP. NOW it boots but I have to recover all my bookmarks and addresses. Fortunately, I had backups for them.

But more importantly, my PC runs like a new one. I've decided not to restore the old programs since all I do with it is surf the web and write programs. Whatever was causing my problems is still on the old drive.

Good riddance.
