Subject: Not happy after Hotmail switched to Outlook mail. Next best? |

Since Hotmail has switched to Outlook, I'm looking for a different one. I've given Outlook mail a good try, but it is so slow, at times, and I can't seem to rely on it as much as I did when it was still Hotmail; ...as if any of them are reliable. But some are better than others. What do you suggest I try next? Thank you kindly.

I never use Outlook. And am trying to get off of yahoo mail all together.. using own personal e-mail that comes with my website I've had for years. So, sorry I cannot recommend.

Thanks, Pam. That's okay; Your thoughts on those two are on the same order as mine are, and that helps. I'll experiment with a couple of the other ones and see what works. I did okay when mine was still Hotmail, but Outlook is like a big weight; I actually feel drained after using it!! Anyway, thanks again for your reply.

Hi Barb. I use Thunderbird. Have been using it for about 5 years now. Have no problems with it. It is simple to use and virtually trouble free.
I tried Eudora 8.0.9beta. The only problem I have with it is that it will not tell me when I have new mail. I tried everything in the book and then threw the book away. Didn’t do me one bit of good.
Both of the programs are loaded into your computer. All of your email is handled by your IP. My IP has a very good junk mail program so I almost never receive any spam or crap like that. If I do I can tell it to block in the future and that is the end of that crap. Take Care…Don

Don, Thanks for your post! I think I would have, "...thrown the book away" too!! :)
I'll check out Thunderbird; It sounds like it may be a good one. All info. about any of these is really appreciated, so thanks, again.

Startpage.com is a search engine that doesn't record or keep your searches. Private and good. I use it all the time now, and avoid Google. They are working on a free email that should be available sometime soon. I plan to switch from yahoo and hotmail to this one once it's launched.
