Subject: Question for Bopp

Ryan, do you know why some posts have wider rows of
text while others (like mine) get truncated, making the
final result look like one Narrow long column (with a
lot of white space in the text box to the right)? I've
posted from my laptop, desktop with small lcd, and then
from a 23" lcd, all at various screen resolutions. The
result is the same: a long Doric column of text (which
is hard for me to read).

Any suggestions / solutions / crowbars is appreciated.

btw I loved the photos and videos of your Memorial Day
parade!! It looks like you live in a very creative
community. I'll have to figure out where I put the
photos from our local hometown parade, I'll post a few
pics.

Hi Curly Bear,

Just to add I've noticed when I post from my PC the messages are full width but when I post from my I-phone or tablet the posts are narrow.

Cheers

Jim

the layout depends on where the text is copied from...some text has formatting embedded in it, like line breaks etc, that you don't see but still keep it it columnular...the only easy way to deal with it is to paste the copied text into a new email or word processor app and then change the format to plain text...

those pics weren't of a parade per se....it is a 47 mile race that those vehicles undertake over 3 days...it always happens on memorial day weekend...been going on in one form or another for 45 years now...

Have you ever participated in that race? What was it
like?

btw thanks for clarifying that it was a 3-day race. I
was scratching my head at the extensive work that went
into the variouis contraptions...though it was one hell
of a lotta work for one parade! hehe
~Peace~

It may have something to do with your browser. I have noticed that I get different results when posting with Internet Explorer vs Chrome. This post was done with my IE8 browser on windows XP. Notice that there are no line breaks, and the text wrap varies with window size. I will follow with another post done with my Chrome browser and you will see a difference (chrome will add line breaks in places where I would not put them).

It may have something to do with your browser. I have
noticed that I get different results when posting with
Internet Explorer vs Chrome. This post was done with my
CHROME browser on windows XP. Notice that this post has
line breaks. This is not a copy-paste post. I typed all
of this text with my own big fat fingers and
deliberately left out line breaks (AKA carriage returns,
paragraph marks). Compare this CHROME post with my
previous IE8 post. All line breaks in this post were
added by my chrome browser after I hit the Post Message
button.
