Subject: When highlighted area is a link it takes me to an ad

Lately I noticed if I put my courser on a highlighted
area here a pop up add pops up. But when a link(not all
of them)is highlighted it causes me to go to an ad if I
click. I have Norton and no virus showing.

yeah, the highlighted ad b.s. (with the same url as the boppin page i'm on), came back yesterday, and is now showing up again. Ran all the cookie/malware removers. It's probably a surveillance-f.u. tactic. It is certainly not any kind of 'objective in-dex'.

I'm thinking it must be a browser thing...I don't see any such links...perhaps there is a setting in your browser that will prevent these from showing? if you see a post with links like that give me a link so i can check it out...thanks

ok, you asked for it.. but be careful, this spam was sent out from several of our email accounts last spring and we had to notify and change our passwords (though I think it was not done through our own passwords but rather through the mainstream server itself [conjecturing here]).

This was from "check".

Damn this corrupt system.

my example was the actual link it takes your computer to *if* you click on it. they're like keyword links and there's no reason i should get them on boppin.. if you merely put your cursor on it, it shows boppin page url as is.. if you go check it then shifts with a stupid popup and whatever that has to connect to.. on the boppin pages it highlights a close color so it's distracting subconciously as these hotlinks are everywhere.. mis-emphasis of emphasis lol while there are real problems..

well try to get me a link to a post on this site that has such links so I can investigate...but guessing it is a personal problem, not a boards problem...

it happens on all pages. no toolbars or search engines other than ixquick, everything cleared and it comes back sometime soon even without going to email. figure it's just some hidden cookie mechanism from somewhere that gets popped back on or is stuck from the present advanced system care, zone alrm, etc. it's crypto enough. you see nothing coming through your end so be it.

i'm not sure if the person who used this computer this morning went to email or not since the computer got 'cleared' last night.
