Subject: I have Zonealarm for a firewall; are there better options...

Just wondering if I would be better off to have a different firewall protection. Mine is the free version of ZoneAlarm. So far, I haven't had any problems, but for some reason, I'm not that comfortable with how to use it. Any suggestions of better options for firewall protection would be appreciated. Thanks.

URL: MAC Viruses

Hi Ryan. There was a time when MAC computers were virus free, but those days are slowly but surely coming to an end. My daughter has a new MAC computer and she got a virus about a month ago that took her a week to get it out of her computer. She got it while visiting Facebook.

The more popular MAC becomes the more your apt to get a virus. The thing I find interesting is that it seems that only the newer MACs seem to have problems with viruses. The older models don't. My daughter has an 8 year old MAC and has never gotten a virus in it. She would visit Facebook once or twice a week so she didn't think the new one would have any problems.

She is currently using Norton Anitvirus, but it is a resource hog. She is looking around for another one. Take Care...Don

Individual Dimwit Award goes to bopp - great recommendation for
software to PC users...

Little Snitch = Works on PowerPC and Intel based Macs running Mac OS X

PS I can't think of a reason why you would want/need to use Little Snitch
unless you were using pirated software...

Bopp, is your software all paid for?? lol

The old macs used a motorola series chip set which uses inverted bytes compared to intel products. Thus many viruses which worked on intel chips did not work on motorola chip instruction sets. Then somebody decided to buy out apple cpus and install intel chips instead of motorola chip sets. Now virues have free run of the field... ain't corp. buyouts wondeful.
