I've been using Firefox for a few years and have really been happy with it until this latest version. I cannot resolve its choppy streaming video. Anyway, what is Chrome like? and any other browser you would suggest?

I just downloaded Chrome and then got ChromeLite
in order to view only the text on various websites.
Frankly, I don't like the avatars that many people
use on prophecies.us and this is one way around that.
With all of the new browsers, it seems in some
instances it takes forever to download all the pictures
and info on the page and one can't click on anything
until this is done. Anyway, for now, text only mode in
Chrome is useful.

Google Chrome is a great web browser. It has a very
simple menu at the top that does not take up much
space.

The browser updates are simple, too. Click the wrench
in the upper right corner of the browser and click
"About Google Chrome" to automatically check for the
updated version. It automatically installs the updated
version if there is one.

Do you know if the fixes are including a fix for their choppy video streaming? I haven't checked the update yet, but was just wondering. I'll check it out after I get off the boards. Thanks for the info.!

Barb;

You don't have to use the latest version of Firefox.

I like it too but stopped because it won't display .pdf files.

Thanks, Roger. I was considering doing just that --going back to the previous version. When searching the Internet for solutions to the recent problems I have been encountering, I ran across a report about this last version having been rushed through, and that there were many issues with it. So, I think I will go back to the version I had been using before all of this! Thanks again!

Hi Barb. You must be trying to use Firefox 4.0. There are a number of problems with it. I went back to using Firefox 3.6.16. I have no problems with it. I've decided not to use 4.0 until they have a finished product. Take Care...Don

Yes, I was! But, I've uninstalled the 4.0 and reinstalled 3.6. I guess there must be many complaints since they are already out with some fixes for the 4.0! Best to wait until all the kinks are out of these new updates; Normally that is exactly what I do, but it kept reminding me to update it, and I was weary and did!!

Hi Barb. Firefox 4.0.1 is out, but is no better then 4.0 was. Noscript program can't be found and PDF files can't be open using either Adobe or Foxit. I'm currently using 3.6.17. I have no problems with it.

The thing that puzzles me is that there some people who are using the 4.0.1 version and they aren't having any problems. Sure would like to know what they did. Take Care...Don
