Subject: something to curdle your blood

A day or so I got a blue screen of death and when I tried to reboot it told me I had no hard drives.

I could just see everything going up in smoke (again!) when I couldn't afford to replace it.

I'd be totally offline until finances improved.

Horrors!

I tried everything to fix it. Finally managed to boot far enough to run chkdsk and wonder of wonders, everything came back up.

I thought the motherboard had fried the IDE ports but apparently something messed up the MBR.

Roger

Never mind, I'm back again.

Don't know how or why but it works again.

Put your puter to turn back,to a date you had no problems,that generally fixes it. Also,have a partition so you have another free ware redhat incase windows dumps.

Dona;

That's no help when it won't boot.

Something changed the bios to tell it I had no hard disk.

Dona;

It's fixed now.

My current concern is that something is killing the power. Possibly the power supply is going bad.

There is a power off switch you can chg. Or manipulate in your tally. I suggest making sure you have a outside redundant and a hell fire turn off ,situated
Obvisioly,you are back online...but review the ether and disconnect,re-run and be breave.
