If your Costco and other big name stores are running
out of staples due to panic buyers, and if you have
any ethnic food shops in the area, check there.
Usually they will have the big 10 to 20 to 30 lb
bags of rice and bags of lentils reasonably priced.

Our big name stores are seeing sparse supplies in
some areas (though we're still doing good compared
to other areas) but the Indian grocers still have
pallets and pallets full of rice and lentils, some
of which IS organic.

If you live in a food desert though, you have my
sympathy, this is going to get rough really fast if
it isn't already.

Rice or Corn paired with a 'legume' [ie beans/peas or lentils] form a complete protein complex. :-) They are very good for you! I happen to sell them into the wholesale market [it to packagers and canners]. Be assured there are plenty of beans/peas and lentils available to be shipped. It just will take time to get them in and packaged/canned and distributed. They 'Just In Time' Inventory system is NOT geared to this kind of paniced buying. People need to take a big breath, get what they need for 10 days to 2 weeks, and the pipeline will be refilled! Be safe one and all!

We're all about to get a taste of what its like to live
in Soviet Union's cold war era, or Castro's Special
Period 90's Cuba, or even Maduro's current Venezuela.
