The local Safeway has a good sale on canned goods and other items. They have been running ads on different items the past couple weeks. I just brought home about $200 of store-able food for about $50. Canned food will keep well in a cool dry place and I was not the only one with the same though as there were quite a few of us seniors filling the carts and the manager allowed us to go over the limit.

Hey, winter is coming and if power is out it will be easy to open some cans of soup or make soup on the camp stove from ingredients and at least enjoy a hot meal.

I just stopped by the local Safeway again and stocked up on more of the special items. I got about $50 of food for $15 and intend to go again Monday as the weekend will be crazy in there but days are not bad to take your time and load up.
