“I really think that we have a long way to go to create a true culture of preparedness within our citizenry in America. No American, no citizen, no visitor to this country is immune to disaster. And we have a long way to go to get people to understand the hazards based on where they dwell, where they work, and how to be prepared financially, how to be prepared through insurance, how to have continuity of operations plans for their businesses, so that we can avoid the suffering, the strife, and the loss of life. It’s truly disappointing that people won’t heed the warnings."

Folks, there are plenty of ships there now or heading there so the whining is just that whining by arm chair rescue people who could not get up to help themselves.

The big thing is to prepare for a disaster be it fires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes or the worst of worst a CME or EMP.

As we see, help takes about a week to come together in any disaster.

Been there, done them so have the experience.

Until you have been there you have no clue so stop whining.

Change the law today and it will be weeks until it ramps up as you are nowhere aware of how ports operate.

Leslie

A friend of mine's family had memory of the "year
without a summer" and whenever possible in their
migrations set aside two years provisions, one for the
year of disaster, one for recovery until the crops
could produce again.

Next time you make chili maybe think about putting a pint of your
salsa in it! That’s what I’m going to do with my other jar you brought
us. Yummy! Kat

This area is very beautiful in the spring. We call the color of
everything ‘ spring green’ it is so pretty. Another visit would be very
nice. Keeping in touch is important. Kat

Look it up on your computer. Keep Clorox handy, if I remember
correctly all you have to do is add a few drops into the water to make
it drinkable. Kat

Good advice Leslie....I think at times we have been told so many times nothing we want to do can be done that in ways people just "give up". When you can't produce your own food...its rather kind of sad... be it chickens or garden.
