It's a waste of money to build civil protection sites. When the bombs hit, there won't be a warning. There won't be time to get there. Once they are launched it will take 30m-2 hr to reach the US from Russia. And they will probably be launched at night. The public won't be warned because it will create too much chaos. The money spent on fallout shelters would be better spent on food and social services for their people. |

| I know I read about that- guess we will just have to suffer the top side or find some underground areas ourselves. I have now and then checked out tunnels and or various areas here locally and other places I have lived since moving from S Calif in late 1998. Even a storm cellar or two. Back in early 2000 I entertained idea of burying a school bus for that effort. |
