the only difference seems to be a change in environment
from place in the holy land to places on the great
plains ... they went from buildings to the great
outdoors and the meanings shifted toward the new
environment ... but the words kept the idea of ascent
in both ... this is just one of many, many, many
comparisons that defy "coincidence" ... this is
diffusion of language and the Lakota are the most
spiritual people that I am aware of ... even to this
day they revere the earth and the sky and the creatures
that live and the rocks gave them their beginning ...
they say that rock, inyan, was first when all was fluid
and that rock, inyan, gave of itself to make everything
that exists ... the word in Hebrew for the ark that
holds the rock slabs of the covenant is "mishkan" and
the word for the Creator in Lakota is shkan ... just
coincidence? you tell me
