Let us put on the board horizontally: False Personality, Personality, Essence, Real I, God. This is what we have to think about. This is the problem of Esotericism, and this is why it is so difficult to understand quite what Esoteric Teaching is saying. You must have understood by now that the Work teaches by implication that we have forgotten ourselves.
That is why the Work starts with the idea that a man can remember himself. Think for yourself for a moment: if you are told that you must remember yourself, it must imply that you have forgotten yourself, and this must again imply that once upon a time you did remember yourself and have now forgotten yourself, and this is why everything is wrong with you and with other people in this life. The great teaching of the Work is that everyone has fallen asleep, everyone has forgotten himself or herself, and that is why everything goes in the only possible way that it can go.
That is also why it is said that we have to awaken from sleep and so the Work speaks about the necessity of trying to remember ourselves and not live all our lives asleep, identified with things, persons, events, with every unpleasant situation and all the rest. You may ask why, if we were created perfect, at a level higher than Earth, it is necessary to be made to descend at all. The answer is that a being created perfect has contributed nothing to its own development. It would be easily tempted. Man by descent and ascent thus becomes stronger "than the angels", as it is said somewhere.

"Are you a reincarnation of god?" "No," he replied."Are you a wizard, then?" "No." "Well, are you a man?" "No." "So what are you?" They asked, being very perplexed. Buddha simply replied: "I am awake." Buddha means “the awakened one.” How to awaken is all he taught."

Would love to share my own journey with everything I've known as *an Awakening process,* not sure if I'll be able to, but FWIW, these terms of Awakening To and Remembering OneSelf have always resonated w/me as capturing the Essence...

Splitting Time
The splitting time is here, time to change our life. The darkness is so thick you can cut it with a knife. The brightness of the light, you might think will blind you, but listen to me carefully, I tell you that's not true. Black and white.. grays are going away, It's time to make choices for us..to go or stay. Come take my hand, away from the night. Step out a bit further here..into the light. Time is disappearing we have to take a stand let us come together, please take my hand. Don't run away, please don't stray. It's time to look at your life, to find out who you are, where you are going, and have you come that far? Step into my heaven, look into my eyes.. that we are closer now shouldn't be such a surprise. Angels are waiting for us to join with them in song, don't tarry in the darkness, it's taken way too long.

Well that was a good read. You mention the " Work ". What Work are you talking about ? Is it found in the teachings of a Master or a Book or just your inner knowings of Truth ? Probably everyone knows what you were referring too, I do not. Sorry. I know about Waking Up, and absolutely love The Teachings of The Masters of The Far East, by Baird T. Spalding. Also enjoy Papaji's teachings and Rumi. Can you tell me what " Work " you are referring too, that teaches what you shared. And of course, totally agree. We gotta all freaking Remember Who We Are and Wake the heck up. The whole world needs a Geshtalt ' Ah Ha ' moment, thats for sure. Thanks.
it is "the work" as delineated by GI Gurdjieff...it is also called the Fourth way (1, 2, and 3 are the fakir, the monk and the yogi, which correspond to man ruled by moving/physical center, the emotional center and the intellectual center) pd ouspensky wrote a book about it called the fourth way but gurdjieff was the man who brought it to the 20th century...gurdjieff wrote 3 works...beezelbub's tales to his grandson (comes in 3 volumes), meetings with remarkable men and life is real only then, when i am...gurdjieff calls the work esoteric christianity and it was mainly developed from the teachings/knowledge that came from ancient egypt...another good book to read is "in search of the miraculous"...

.....For answering my question and explaining. Going to look into Gurdjieff's works, and what you shared is available to read. Also, in Search of the Miraculous sounds wonderful. What a title, huh ! Going to go to Amazon as see what they have available. Thank you.

Wow, so much could be said here but what comes to mind is how the lost books of the bible support this closing thought. (Dangme, I think that's where I got this, yeah believe so.)
Before Adam and Eve had disobeyed and fallen, the angels were a bit scared of them when approaching them. After the fall, they were a bit scared of the angels.
This that you presented and that are in harmony. Very cool.

...I think Master used to refer to this as seeing the "one" in "all".
Descending into this world is probably an important part of the process as is not getting too hung up on it.

Reminded me of the book "Mankind in Amnesia" by Immanuel Velikovsky.
Good time for a re-read once we get the celebrations over with.
