Arun Gandhi·

October 2 is grandfather’s 148th birth anniversary and while he will be celebrated all over the world I am reminded of his poignant words “They will follow me in life, worship me in death but not make my cause their cause.”
More than peace his cause was bringing harmony among disparate people. Learn to live with respect for each other. Not tolerance. People should not be tolerating each other or diversity. We are all in the same boat of life so rocking it helps no one.
If all of us from different religions, ethnicities, color, persuasion, can come together for one day and just embrace each other it will be a meaningful way to honor his memory. In two years it will be his 150th anniversary. If people in every city come together and take a pledge to respect diversity and work for harmony among all what a grand step it would be for humankind. Let everyone write down everything they hate and make a bon fire of hate. Then start a new life of love and respect. ❤️

I myself was not influenced by Gandhi regarding my diet or my
spiritual beliefs nor do I follow him or worship him, though certain
ideas regarding peace I can relate to and agree given what I think I
know about this person and the experiences I have had on my
sojourn.

He coined a new word popular today with many which is shared in
the article link ...it's a good thing to think upon and share during a
time of remembrance of Gandhi imo.

In the spirit of Peace,
Truly,

"Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths." - Joseph Campbell.

The myth of Gandhi is very different from the truth of Gandhi.
