I guess everyone here has heard about Mindfulness from Buddhism.
Is there a special meditation that represents the idea best or is just like other meditations that you listen to and it's hit and miss?
Thanks

I started years ago with guided vipassa meditations from Shinzen Young. I was very attracted to his teachings the first time I heard him. Japanese- American, very inspiring, east-west kind of guy. Not much ego to filter through.
His comprehensive 14 disc program has 6 or 8 different 40 minute meditations (each with a different focal point) together with several hours of interesting history, anectodotes and guidance to complement the meditations.
I think I paid over $100 at the time but the price on amazon is $39 now and only $8.99 for the entire course as an mp3 (downloaded from amazon). I bought this version after giving my 1st set away. It's exactly the same as the $100 set.
Anyway, it may be more than you're looking for, but that's my 2 cents.
His website has a wealth of info: http://www.shinzen.org

Thanks for the link.
I'll check out his youtube videos and see what I can learn.
I'll probably pick up the meditations later this week.
I'll load them on my phone.
Although I have never heard of the guy, it seems many others here have.
I appreciate your time and the recommendation !

I just re-read your question - I don't know if what I suggested represents the best of mindful meditation, but I think it, vipassana, offers one path of it.

I like that many religions or spiritual practices include meditation. I wonder how they differ or do they really differ? I linked a Hindu take which I find interesting

I was just getting into studying him...I have an collection of books called the Harvard classics, covers an lot of stuff but one of them is all the major religions in the world...what it gives as the concept of people to live by is very different from the religion of these days. It's not about just meditations, it's about how to live. One of them is living so there is no hidden site of yourself in the world. you are always before mankind and heaven and earth. He says its preferred to live under an tree....where all you do can be seen by others and thus for is without shame.

There is only one moment - this moment - wonderful moment. Thich Nhat Hanh is a zen Buddhist Monk - a man of Peace and Love. Sadly he is aging now like The Dalai Lama, but what a legacy they have made for living on this Earth Plane.
Blessings
