This reminds me of years ago when I was student
teaching kindergarten. I would take a few minutes of
the day for the kids to put their head down on their
desk and meditate. So what happened was the kids told
the parents it was a nap time and parents were not
happy with me. So much for trying to be ahead of the
curve.

This sounds like a wonderful way to address unruliness. The good news is that those kids will probably use it as their life progresses and when they have issues they'll take a bit of time to calm down and become good problem solvers.
Sue, I'm sorry you met with a negative outcome though it must be nice to know the world is changing and sometimes for the better.
