...or, PFS, for short; without apologies for my choice of language but also, equally sincerely, apologies to anyone whose sensibilities/sensitivities feel bruised by having read it... ;)
Question: What does everyone here feel falls under this particular heading? What is petty, to you -- not to your mind or intellect, but to your heart? Your Spirit? To that realm of you, what is “silly shite” and, what is (dare I speak the words) truly weighty, significant, important? Not at all petty-/silly-shite?
Hard to know where best to post this...lol...but I'm gonna go w/my gut and put it here, on the Spiritual board...because for me, this is an entirely spiritual issue...
(And for RIG: Yes, I know I've not yet answered the question you posed on the Music/Art board some time back; hopefully this will provide a segue into that... ;->...)

Thanks to all of you for your comments... As I said to hannah, I'm realizing that what gave rise to starting this thread might be better served by my just writing a post from There, so I'll let that gestate.
I do understand that we all have very unique sets of values that define "pettiness" and "true significance" to ourselves; my intent wasn't at all to set up poster's respective sharings into *comparing by contrast* to one another (let alone judgement and criticism! shudder), but rather as an opportunity to discover common ground and similarity...which I now see may not have been clear. ;->
RIG, I know I've left some things hanging, which'll have to wait until whenever. Try not to whine. lol

The point of the question was to hopefully generate some focus and perspective around what actually IS petty and what IS important, within each person's context of spiritual experience respected.

RIG...I disagree with hannah, I think your posts belong on the bible board; to me you're indistinguishable from the most radical fundamentalists: "I know the only truth; the rest of you are idiots." Same message, same hammer, just wielded from a different angle.

sf apologies 4 hurt i inflicited.
Truly i am sorry.
I was mostly referring to the 99 %25 of the dream board being pfs iir the post by rig.
Some are incredibly accurate and are bothered by what they see. The choice of the words 4 the title was off putting in the same way arriving at a black tie event in a speedo.
I am used to the word.
Just not in the context.
Also would like your question clarified.
If a person finds spiritual meaning in a sunset or in a snake it is not petty to them and it is my place to honor that./to a fine point as i had neighbor who all her contacts were folks aligned with the mosk that the ca shooters went to.

Metta indeed {{{hugs}}}... Thank you for your kind words, and I'm sorry I reacted in a knee-jerk way to your earlier post. It's really all on me, and the speedo at a black-tie event is great way to characterize how my choice of wording must've appeared in this particular forum. ;) Although I do understand the power of the spoken word/sound vibration & resonance, blue language is pretty ingrained for me, and that particular phrase (PFS) in my subject line is actually a term common amongst those I talk to most. I don't much censor my language in speaking, but I do in writing, generally, and for several reasons I've been letting those filters slip, too. ;) After I typed it I realized I should say something to gentle it, but what I did say clearly couldn't offset that effect your wording above describes so perfectly. ;-> Thank you for that!
I'll try to clarify, but the more I ponder this, the more I realize the essence of why I posed the question might be better served by writing directly from that space...so I'll think about that. Verbal composition and keyboarding can be dicey for me these days, and I'm horribly verbose by nature...and the subject material challenging to translate...so it may take me a while, but I'll resolve having opened this thread by doing that, if I can.

I think Hannah was jumping my shit more than yours...
but still was an opening for discussion... and I
didn't catch the part where Hannah made a call on
where I should be posting, so why do you disagree with
her?... although I'll admit I'm not sure who this "Lou
in Va" is...
And Candace/KAN DEAK/or whatever name she chooses to
go by at the moment, although I rarely agree with her
on much of anything, she seemed to be agreeing with
what you and I both seemed to agree on, that Spiritual
matters by there very nature are important (etc.)...
As for your opinion of me, I notice you're skipping
right over my comment on Experience being the Key the
truly Spiritual... it makes me think you didn't really
want a conversation in the first place, unless it went
completely along what you want to believe about what
Spiritual is, contrary to what you claim the
discussion intent for the original post... if I'm
truly wrong on this, I'm more than happy to be
corrected with further open dialogue... but as with
any discussion, don't get your feathers in a ruffle if
the conversation goes in differing directions...
So, getting back to the original intent of the
discussion... maybe you should go first, to give the
rest of us spiritual knuckledraggers some context...

Nah, RIG, I wasn't overreacting at all. If I seem a little hairtrigger, it's because I'm in nearly intractable physical pain. Also tends to incline me toward choosing somewhat more colorful language. ;->
And I feel no need to respond to every single thing you say...though since it's easy, I'll say I agree wholeheartedly that experience is the best teacher when it comes to spirituality. But that is NOT to feed or support YOUR obsession with hammering those who identify with spiritual teachings/writings they feel speak their own truth for them, either...
You assume soooo much... lol "I didn't really want to have a discussion in the first place..." is your take, is it? Dude, do you *ever* think past that first urge to invalidate what someone says?
RIG, I already know what I believe spiritually; I have no interest in debate on any level. I thought it might be interesting to start a *discussion* amongst posters here, see if anyone felt like exploring the subject for themselves and via contrast with others.
So...no, I won't be "going first to give you *knuckledraggers* some context," haha...(not)... I didn't post to expound on my angle; it's hard to imagine that anyone around here doesn't know what I feel to be petty, and what I feel to be important spiritually, already.

Oh, well first, sorry to hear about your physical
pain... what kind of medications (if any) are you
taking for it?...
And to the continuing discussion (note, not a
debate)... no, "assuming"... that's not necessarily my
take on it, that was just providing an opportunity for
you to further the conversation, which you seem
hellbent on shutting down... it seems you have the
obsession on hammering, I simply speak the Truth when
it needs speaking... so you don't need to feed or
support or whatever... me... ;)
Now, I'm still more than open to the original
discussions intent, which if we're all on the same
playing field, which I believe we all are... one has
to give and take throughout the conversation,
otherwise it seems as though one is propping
themselves up over the others as the standard "I'm
more enlightened than though" shtick that too often
permeates this board... meaning if one wants to truly
start a conversation of this kind, they need to be
involved on the ground level with everyone else... so
if you don't want to go first, what the heck, I
will...
So... Spiritually Petty... as I've said already, I
don't see Spirituality as petty or silly... any kind
of Spirituality... now, on the other hand, as
Spirituality is indeed Truly weighty, Significant, and
Important... the Truth of it must be reverenced,
honoured as Truly Sacred and to be defended... to
accept this is to understand that there are forces at
work that want to tear it down, some outright and easy
to see and know as the enemy of the Truly Spiritual...
and even more that have the same dark intent but mimic
the Truly Spiritual, that sidle right up next to you
and smile a brilliant and warm and loving smile, and
whisper (or even speak boldly) all the things the
Truly Spiritual say and stand for... then stab you in
the back... mostly speaking metaphorically here, but
is just as well in the literal, maybe even more so if
you consider the dark ones that take the lives of
others in the name of Light through manipulation,
deception, and full blown lies...
Ok, so... you're turn... if you want to be a
participant in your discussion... ;)

I'm wondering if we are searching for a ying yang
thing here. Light dark, fire water. We search for
balance but that implies there are opposites or at

Could be... although some want to dismiss the notion of
dualism in Spirituality, I think it's existence rather
obvious... and that there are many forms of it, as you
mention, Light & Dark, Fire & Water, and Male & Female,
Order & Chaos, Up & Down etc. & etc., throughout all
that is, Spiritual and Physical, binding it all together
as the mass spins Round & Round... All directions & No
Directions... one of my Experience Keys has been finding
the Balance point that provides a view of it all even if
it's just a moment Here & There, maintaining that
Balance point in the turbulence of This & That... that
is the trick... ;)

Hi, Hannah... the Dreams board is better than the
Spiritual board, until the Mahalarky, 5Deally, and other
copy pasted nonsense shows up posted as "Prophecy" (I'm
guessing)... although in regards to straight up
dreaming, I think there's at least a couple folk that
totally make up some of the dreams they post... yours I
typically find of interest... I no longer share much of
my own dreaming there for personal reasons...
