“It’s time to regularly practice ho’oponopono for the terrorists. Do this each day. Do it when you’re by yourself and do it in groups, with others. The terrorists are bringing to the surface a great evil; bringing up great confusion. What is taking place now requires strong medicine and ho’oponopono is strong medicine. In your mind and heart, over and over again repeat—“I am sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you.” This forgiveness work will release you from negativity. It will clear your own feelings of anger and helplessness and will help those who are caught in the trap of violence and rage.

As an internal individual exercise in clearing energies,
fine, indicative of a weak spirit, but fine... when you
link it to "for the terrorists", it becomes complete cow
feces...
Doing this "for" the terrorists... no... you're not going
to counter anything the "terrorists", or more importantly
anyone else who is truly working dark energies to the
harm of "innocents"... fortify your Spirit and take
action directly... otherwise, this is just more New Ager
we can't do anything about it, so this exercise will make
you feel "empowered"... but that's all it does, makes
FEEL like you're doing something, when you're really
not...
As for light/positive vs. dark/negative, when are these
New Ager feely good types going to realize there's
nothing wrong with feeling the complete range of human
spiritual emotions?... if you shrink from what is
commonly viewed as "negative" or "dark", and desperately
cling to "positive" or "light", yet also espouse
"balance", you will NEVER understand or KNOW true
Balance... for that matter, not everything "light" is
positive and the same for the other "side" of the coin,
not everything "dark" is negative...

Then I began to ask what is REAL?
Then I learned that I could not get to REAL until I quieted MySelf.

I tried to put into words why I think this prayer is so important.
As I recall the story of the man who made ho’oponopono well known, he was a shrink who worked with violent mentally ill people confined to the building in which he worked. No one before him had generated any healing in the residents, nor had any hope it could happen, but by doing this practice by himself for each one in his office every day, one by one they all healed and were released. So the first reason I think the prayer is worth doing is that it already has a history of doing the impossible.
The words of the prayer seem to go beyond our usual linear meanings of language. Gary Eberle in his book, Dangerous Words: Talking about God in an Age of Fundamentalism, says we have a problem because of the reductionist way we use language about ultimate matters; that literalism can distort scriptural language whose referent (God/Goddess) can’t ever be contained in words; and that by thinking with a reductionist version of the core religious ideas, the terrorists and the reductionists are both living by the same misplaced God-language. Prayer, as a link between the self and ultimate reality isn’t Newtonian, it is holographic and partakes in the holy mystery beyond language.
The paradoxical aspects of the words of ho’oponopono confuse me at a literal level, but it does something to me when I pray it. I can feel it changing me for the better. Some years ago I got tired of praying in words and decided to just sit in a church I liked and ask the Divine to pray me. Although I had no conscious idea of what was changing, I could feel God changing me. That’s what happened when I said the ho’oponopono prayer.
We’re all inescapably part of the hologram, and maybe when we pray it with the intention of healing others, it gives to the one who prays it a direct experience of how it heals, which might also function as the beginning of an empathy and a hope for the other, as well as an experience for the pray-er that it actually heals people. My experience with it was that it heals inclusively, incrementally, and sequentially—that it keeps on clearing and healing. If nothing else, the experience suggested to me that in praying for the other, I was receiving the healing too.
By asking for forgiveness both for myself and the other, and affirming my love for myself and the other--not for what the other does, but who this other is who shares the quality of being human with me--at least I won’t be attracting punitive attacks by someone else in response to any of my unconscious personal and/or collective guilt feelings. And what else have we got? Suppose the terrorist approaches and we have no physical defense? In that prayerful state of mind, who knows what angels may attend you and the other? Maybe Love is asking in this prayer to be made primary in our own consciousness, even if ultimate physical protection is not assured.

Thanks, Shirley. I just read your reference and I also very much like what you said about it clearing the small mind so that we can perceive through the Divine Mind.
The article says ho'oponopono is based on doing two things: being responsible and clearing yourself so that you don't create more of the problem externally in reaction patterns.
I have never felt that "you create your own reality" was the whole story, nor that it could be. It seems to me that we are a paradox and a mystery--individual yet part of the hologram so that each of us includes both what we are and what we are not in all dimensions of time. Maybe that's what lets us help not only ourselves but others.
It looks to me like the prayer clears back and forth in time as well as between self and others. It seems to me a lot like a Bodhisattva vow in action, the idea that even if we wanted to, we "couldn't go to Heaven alone."
I plan to keep doing it to see what happens, including clearing ancestral links.

very eloquent Anne: )and well said...I believe so much in the power of prayer and that ability to change people places and things.
There are many scientific studies done about prayer and the folks being prayed for were healthier happier etc. than the ones who weren't.
We are all connected and since God is omniscience, omnipotent, omnipresent those words can change the people in this world. Starting with us and we can make a difference for other people.

I don't say rote prayers and rote meditations. I make
up my original communication with those above. You are
to grown and have your feelings. Jesus taught one rote
prayer and its corrupted and the purpose was because
people were so mind controlled they couldn't make up
their own communications.
You have minds beloveds.. original minds which can
think up original stuff. Use them for original stuff.
Some of the prayers and meditations out there are in
fact so scripted they are created by dark side and
actually thus assist the dark plans.
do thy own thing based on thy own searchings and
knowing. Christians as an example are being encouraged
to pray for "god's chosen" people and the country of
Israel. They are thus supporting the dark side plans.

Please share here how it has helped today. WE need to have testimonials on it. Like I wrote, last time I posted that here couple years ago, I was torn to shreds by some here. I think it does have its merits tho. And anything to help within the spiritual is worth doing.
