At the equator, the solar rotation period is 24.47 days. This is called the sidereal rotation period.
Keep this in mind.
That sunspot that just emitted a MASSIVE X-class Flare, that Could have knocked out Power Grid, happened on the far side of the Sun, NOT facing earth.
But "IF" it had been facing earth when this happened, we would ALL be "off-line" right now, and would continue to be "off-line" for many, many months.
Got your 17th Century equipment ready???
If the power grid gets knocked out by a large solar flare we will be living like those in 17th century.
It is estimated that most people will die, in such an event.
So good reason to keep an eye on these sunspots/solar flares.

WARNING: Massive X-Class Solar Flare recently emitted on the far side of the Sun. “IF” this had been emitted while facing earth, it would have knocked out ALL of our Power Grids!
It takes 24 earth days for the Sun to complete one rotation on its axis, so just 12 days for that active sun spot to be facing earth. That means any day now that particularly active Sun Spot that emitted that massive X-Class 14 Solar Flare, will be facing earth.
Do YOU have preparations in place to live like they did in the 17th Century???
Got a horse in the barn?
A means to cook on a fire place fire?
If our power grid gets knocked out, it will be many, many months before it is restored. Consequently, it is predicted that many people will die during such an event/period.
