ANOTHER X-CLASS SOLAR FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have just detected an X2-class solar flare (1752 UTC). The source is departing sunspot AR3234. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash:
Radiation from the flare ionized the top of Earth's atmosphere, causing a shortwave radio blackout over the Americas: map. Aviators and ham radio operators may have noticed loss of signal and other unusual propagation effects at frequencies below 30 MHz for as much as an hour after the flare.
Solar radio bursts now being reported by the US Air Force suggest that the explosion may have also produced a CME. Stay tuned.

I sense this is going to hit us due to personal incoming feels sensory though the text reads it may miss. We'll see soon (within 72 hours as the report on solar ham reads) . ~Eve
A strong X2.07 solar flare (R3 level radio blackout) was just observed around AR 3234 peaking at 17:52 UTC (Mar 3). A further update will be provided should a coronal mass ejection (CME) be associated. Because of the location towards the NW limb, any eruption around this region would not be squarely directed towards our planet. More to follow.
CME UPDATE: A coronal mass ejection (CME) is seen emerging following the X2 solar flare around AR 3234 today. A expected, it is heading to the west. Only a glancing blow at best could be expected within 72 hours, however it should mostly be a miss.
