A SOLAR EXPLOSION OF INTEREST: A magnetic filament
loosely connected to sunspot AR3226 erupted during the
early hours of Feb. 15th. NOAA forecasters say the
resulting CME is "very likely to hit Earth." Stay tuned
for updates as they model the CME's trajectory.

Minor Storm Observed / Partial Halo CME
February 15, 2023 @ 16:10 UTC
Geomagnetic activity reached minor (G1) storm levels during the past 12
hours due to a relatively weak CME passage. Another enhancement will be
possible by February 18th due to a partial halo CME observed leaving the
Sun very early this morning (Feb 15). This was the result of a small
filament eruption in the vicinity of AR 3220 near center disk. Aurora sky
watchers should remain alert during the next several days.
