There is a watch thread on this board about the sunspot that produced the X class flare...there was no CME from this flare according to spaceweather.com thus there will be no geo storm though the event did cause some radio interference as it happened. ~Eve From the archives at spaceweather.com from the 7th: ALL FLARE, NO CME: Yesterday's X-class solar flare did *not* produce a CME. Debris from the blast never left the sun. As a result, no geomagnetic storms will result from the event. |
