another big CME today. I'm thinking that it might be from sunspot 3107 and if so could be earth directed??
There's been a bunch of big CMEs in the past couple of days according to the IMSAL graphs and the SEEDS list.

Yeah, I agree it might be from 3107. After I read your message I found short clip,
it does not add anything additional to your post really but sharing fwiw. Might be
earth directed too like you say...lots of incoming physical sensory but a lot is
going on but strongly feel it's a factor.

thanks Eve. I'm concerned for your safety thinking you might be near the Tampa area? Can you evacuate or have enough supplies to last through this hurricane?
Please keep us posted somehow if you can Eve.
Blessings, Sheila

The storm/hurricane Ian was an okay experience for me where I am, I did not mind it at all though others south of me or near the west coast with no power and wind or flood damage did not fare so well sadly. I have
not heard of any deaths directly due to hurricane Ian yet so far...may it remain that way. The state of Florida overseeing such things as hurricane readiness did imo a decent job at offering advice and instructions
to the public before and during this storm as well.

Hurricane Ian cooled the air a LOT which is a first I can recall for hurricanes I have been through... maybe because it was later in the season but it was HOT and STEAMY prior for months and as I was putting up
garden art on Tuesday, securing my patio furniture and taking care of the plant pots which I have a lot of...I mostly turn them on their side if big so if the wind would knock them over they would not break, stuff
like that. The day prior (Tuesday) I went for a walk and many neighbors were out helping each other put away similar things as I had, visiting one another plus offering help as they walked by my house to see if
anyone needed assistance.  The worst for me was taking care of the outside stuff in the humidity which was not all that bad, took me about an hour.

I slept through the worst of it around 8pm Wed. which was to last about an hour. Up to that point as far as rain was concerned it did not fill up the pond out back more than heavy rains have done in the past. There
were some wind gusts which were not mean or fierce just a few strong ones which are kind of amazing to see as the trees sway in the wind for a brief period of time. At the time of this post the sun has come up, the
rain and wind is not present and the pond out back is less full than it ever was during heavy rains without hurricanes...it's kinda my rain gauge for the past 19 years. The temp is about 63 degrees outside, it's
been in the high 70's this time of morning for awhile until now.

Altogether I have been through worse where I am and I have been through enough to know what to expect in my location, what to do and so forth. I am one of those persons who is always prepared with supplies for
hurricanes just something I did and continue to do since I first moved here about 25 years ago (home now where I am have lived in 19 years). I also don't listen to the mainstream media news I check certain channels
(ie. tropical tidbits) noaa and other local care links and get the scoop minus the sensationalism.

Thank you for your expressing concern just want you do know all is well here no worries about me okay? I know what to do and what the lowdown is on evacuation and other safety precautions plus am in a place many
evacuate to from the coastal area.  There are some places in Florida many choose to live at I would not myself, it's a choice and if one buys a home here they should know the score in terms of local and flood
zones...if not what can I say... but if one is here long enough as a renter or a home owner in a particular area of the state they will come to know. I always try to help the newbies out, my neighbors next door this
was their first and I shared with them what to do to secure stuff outside, etc. Most everyone does the stocking up though, I was at the store on Tuesday and there was still things on the shelves necessary though the
two gas pumps I visited thinking to top off my tank though not really sensing I needed to just thought may as well while I am out were out of gas, I was okay with that.

Take care and thanks again! 💖
truly,
~Eve

wow, thanks for your post Eve, I'm so relieved that you are ok. I'm a huge fan of Tropical Tidbits too, he's such a relief compared to some media with their breathless reports. However, the drone footage of Ft. Meyers that shows the huge damage there speaks to the power of hurricanes and why folks will need to either abandon these low lying areas or build farther from the ocean or?

One of my sons lived in Florida for a few years around 2004, 2005 when there were several powerful hurricanes. He knew I am a weather geek so called me to find out whether he should go north or south during Hurricane Charlie. He went south to his bosses home and was safe. He moved back to Oregon in 2005.

Anyway, Oregon is mostly free of such fierce storms which is why we live here.
Love & hugs, Sheila
