Regarding BS’s Posts To The Boppin Forum,
Hi Ryan,
This is getting pretty serious. I stated to you a long time ago that BS can be trouble. The following is some additional information.
He is in my opinion really, verifiably crazy!
That is not an exaggeration. I believe that he actually admitted that he has that type of problem to some extent on the old Earthwaves forum.
We might all be considered to be a little crazy at times. But in his case it is a REAL problem.
In some of my posts I have said that I am working on 5 projects that involve keeping us all from becoming specks of radioactive dust floating around in the atmosphere.
Translated, that means exactly what it sounds like it means.
These are detailed technical plans for keeping us all out of a nuclear war. I don’t want to say that too clearly in my boppin forum notes. It would likely really scare people.
Years ago, world governments made very good use of one of my technical plans regarding that subject matter. It likely cost them millions of dollars to do what I recommended. So far, that particular effort has been 100% successful.
Since then, the overall nuclear weapons threat has gradually gotten worse. And my original plan needs some major updates. I am working on those updates and will not only be contacting the U.S. government about them but will also be sending the updates to United Nations personnel, news personnel probably, and perhaps to each of the U.S. Presidential Election candidates if any of them are still left when I finally get the work done on those updates.
It is TRULY amazing to me that they can’t seem to do this really obvious type of national security work on their own. But, no one has ever accused our government officials of having any active brain cells!
In addition to everything else, Brian very quickly destroyed the old Earthwaves forum where I and many other researchers used to post notes. When Canie retired and turned it over to him for some strange reason, it almost immediately stopped running. No one has posted a note to that forum in years as far as I can tell.
I don’t want to have to complain to U.S. national security personnel that Brian is causing problems. That would likely result in their banning him from ever again posting any information anywhere on the Internet.
In the following Youtube video, President Obama is discussing my some of recommendations regarding using Smart Weapons technologies.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN_PTRSwPyw
Unfortunately, as I stated, U.S. government officials don’t seem to have many operational brain cells. The CIA did use some of my Smart Weapons recommendations. But White House personnel completely botched the matter.
These are my personal opinions.
It is my STRONG recommendation that for national security reasons and to help with keeping earthquakes from destroying California etc. you might post a note to the Rock and Roll forum stating the following:
Note to BS
You have been warned about this in the past. Now you are getting my final warning.
Rule # 1 You are to never again post a response to one of EQF’s posts.
Rule # 2 You are to never again refer to the contents of any of his or her posts.
Rule # 3 You are to never again use his or her name or what you believe might be his or her name in one of your posts.
Rule # 4 You are to never again post a reference to his Earthquake Forecasting Web site.
Domain names are legally someone’s personal property to a certain extent. Posting a note containing a specific Web site address might be illegal if the Domain name owner very clearly doesn’t want you to do that.
EQF has personally contacted me and stated that he or she does not want you using his or her name or Domain name in any of your posts. He or she does not want you to reference any of the information he is posting here.
That might mean that it is illegal for you to post his or her Domain name here. And if you continue to do that then it could get this forum into legal trouble.
When Canie retired as the moderator for the old Earthwaves forum she turned it over to you.
Rule # 5 If you want to complain about EQF’s posts then try doing that on the Earthwaves forum instead of to this forum.
Date: January 19, 2024 at 21:42:50 From: Skywise, [DNS_Address] Subject: Domain Names (ake web address, aka URL)
I've just done a bit of research on the topic of domain names, also known as URL's (universal resource locators) or web addresses. Specifically on the topic of sharing them.
Admittedly, I am not a lawyer, and my search was not exhaustive.
Is it illegal to share a web address (eg post a link to a website)?
Everything I can find says no.
I also found that they are not protected by copyright law.
If the domain name is a registered trademark, then it is afforded trademark protections.
Also, one does not need to have the owners permission to share the web address of their web site.
A web address is simply the location of something. It is merely data.
It appears having a domain name to point to a website is inherently public information. For how else would your browser be able to locate the website?
The only instances I could find where posting a domain name could be a problem is if the website being linked to is doing something illegal, or if the intent of posting it is somehow illegal. Note that it is NOT the sharing of the link that would be illegal, but the content of the site or intent of posting it that is illegal. For example, sharing a link to a site that conducts illegal activity. Or, asking people to go to the website for illegal purposes.
A domain name is much like the name of a business. For example, Sears. The name "Sears" is certainly a trademark, and it is protected under trademark law. But how could the sharing of the business name ever be illegal? How could it possibly make any sense to require permission from the owners of Sears to require permission for someone to say "You can find tools at Sears"?
It would be a violation of trademark law for someone to put the name Sears on their business if they have no affiliation or permission to do so.
It would also be illegal to advise people to go to Sears to conduct shoplifting.
But the mere sharing of the name Sears for benign purposes is very unlikely to be illegal. It very probably falls under the protection of fair use laws as well.
Stating that EQF's website is https://www.earthquake-research.com/ is merely stating a fact. No ill intent at all, if anything, being beneficial by helping to more easily find his website.

I figured as much.
Really loved his quasi-denial, "may or may not" have sent the email BS. Hahaha... "BS", bit of a pun there.
And yet again, this shows his desire to control and twist the narrative to his personal liking just because people disagree with him. Over the years he has regularly demanded that he get to control who or who does not respond to his postings. Not just here, not just on Earthwaves, but even going back to the days of usenet. I have not been the only one to call him out on this. Although, I may be the only one who continues to do so.
He makes a lot of grandiose claims about his involvement in various situations. One I will address is Earthwaves. He claims to have been involved in its creation. The previous owner, Canie, said that he had nothing to do with it.
Yeah, Earthwaves is pretty much dead right now. But it was dying before I even took it over. My taking ownership is why it still exists at all. Canie was going to shut it down when I offered to take over. My main reason was to keep it's existence, so that it's archive of valuable postings would remain on the net. Right now they are not due to technical reasons that lead to excessive bot attacks on the site. I'm getting really motivated now to address that and get all those posts up online again. That will also show more of the record regarding Ed.
The whole issue between him and I is, first, I dispute his claims of success. He replies with grand claims of various kinds, with no evidence, regarding his credentials and status in the world. I (and others) questions those claims. His response is either to demand control over the narrative and/or to make even more grandiose claims, as we see here.
Every time he's done this it motivates me to waste a little time trying to verify his claims. I have found very little evidence, and only to support the smallest parts of his claims. So either he's done a remarkable job of hiding himself (not really) or it's, pardon the pun again, BS.
I guess I'm just his BS detector.
Enough for now. Have got more important things to do.
Brian
PS If I should suddenly stop posting, then you know Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones came knocking on my door.

Posted by EQF on January 18, 2024
I saw the above post just a short time ago. I don't visit this forum every day. At times I might not visit here for as much as a week.
These are just a few preliminary comments. It will take me a while and some thought before I post a more detailed note.
Your note has a reference to nuclear devices.
One of the things I have to do first before posting a more detailed note is to find some references to the ongoing war in the Ukraine - Russia area. I believe that that references have been repeatedly made in public forums regarding the use of nuclear devices in that conflict. In fact, I believe that there was a story on that subject in today's news. I haven't yet read it but will now go looking for it.
The next thing that I will need to do is STOP LAUGHING.
I would never say in public almost any of the things that you posed in that note. Regardless of my comments in these posts about government officials and government scientists having or not having any active brain cells, that really isn't too bad. Also, I am actually a fairly polite person and scientist.
If you assume that you were actually referring to a note that I sent you then I can add that I wouldn't even need to make comments in public like that. It would appear that YOU said everything that I would never consider saying in public.
1. First, you indicated that you have a degree in physics. While you were getting the degree, didn't ANY of your professors or college or university staff ever discuss legal matters with you regarding exactly what you can and cannot say in public?
I myself have an extensive legal background for a scientist and have had to repeatedly rely on that background over the years with my dealings with the U.S. government and with many other entities and individuals.
Note that in my notes posted here I almost always say, "These are my personal opinions." There is a statement to that effect in the note that you posted.
I believe that stating this in public notes provides a person with ALMOST total legal cover. You might try asking an attorney about that.
I have to say that I am astonished that you would post a note like that. I am also NOT saying that I did or did not send it to you. Legally, as far as anyone is concerned, it appears to me that YOU apparently posted the note. Assuming that that is the case, then I believe that YOU are TOTALLY responsible for any legal consequences that might result from the note being posted. Anyone could propose that you created the post yourself out of thin air.
2. On the positive side, I can't presently see how there might be any legal consequences from your posting the note. No one appears to me to be paying any attention to the material being posted to this forum. Perhaps the person you appear to be referring to as "BS" in the note might be thinking about that. But if so, then that would surprise me.
3. Did you yourself EDIT the note that you seem to be claiming I sent you?
That means, for example, did you change ANY of the text in the note such as replacing an actual person's name with "BS?"
I can't recall ever sending you any note that had "BS" in it.
I believe that legally, once you edit something in any way, you OWN it plus any legal consequences that result from your posting the note in public! You might also try asking an attorney about that.
Take a look at Rule # 4 in your post.
"Rule # 4 You are to never again post a reference to his Earthquake Forecasting Web site.
"Domain names are legally someone’s personal property to a certain extent. Posting a note containing a specific Web site address might be illegal if the Domain name owner very clearly doesn’t want you to do that.
"EQF has personally contacted me and stated that he or she does not want you using his or her name or Domain name in any of your posts. He or she does not want you to reference any of the information he is posting here.
"That might mean that it is illegal for you to post his or her Domain name here. And if you continue to do that then it could get this forum into legal trouble."
I am not a true expert with Internet law. But, I am fairly certain that Rule # 4 is correct and that it applies here. Check out this post:
If Rule # 4 is actually correct, then I believe that someone posting my Web site address without my express permission represents something that I could now take legal action on. I don't have any plans to do that. But if I did not say it before in any of my posts, I don't want "BS" or anyone else posting my Web site address in this forum. As I stated in the following post, there might be some Internet security risks associated with doing something like that.
4. Years ago, someone named Susan and I were running a forum called "Quakenet." It eventually evolved into two Earthwaves forums. One was a Yahoo forum that has I believe largely ceased to exist.
The other forum was run by someone named Canie. Many earthquake researchers including me posted notes there. It was very, VERY active.
Eventually Canie retired and turned the forum over to some other person. Fairly shortly after that, in spite of how active the forum had been, it essentially appears to have stopped running.
Exactly to WHOM did she turn the forum over to?
Exactly WHY did it then stop running?
WHY did she turn the forum over to that particular person? That to me is the greatest mystery. Why didn't she turn it over to someone who would be able to keep it running?
Anyway, all of the earthquake research matters posted to forums are apparently now being posted to THIS boppin forum. And, I do really appreciate that you are keeping it going.
5. If you make the assumption that I DID send you that note, then:
"Thank heavens for the timing of the note !!!"
As I stated in a different discussion board on this Web site, I was planning to start telling governments etc. to start looking at these posts for information regarding earthquake forecasting. They would just have to put up with the nonscientific stuff being posted here.
Now that I believe that I know where your sentiment are regarding the nonscientific stuff it is unlikely that I will be telling any government to watch the board.
However, if I DO get that Perl Earthquake Forecasting computer program translation going, then using the "Science" forum here would still be appropriate for those discussions. And I would appreciate the help. I don't think that the computer program translators would care about any nonsense posts. They would probably enjoy all that stuff!

ANOTHER COMMENT - Posted by EQF on January 18, 2024
OMG Mr. Bopp!
What have you done ???
The following is intended to be amusing. But the information is I believe quite real.
I asked if any of your undergraduate professors ever said anything to you regarding what you can and cannot legally say in public.
Another question is:
Didn't any of them ever say anything to you regarding how our national security agencies work?
Apparently not.
Generally speaking, this is something that you and everyone else posting notes here should know. I am fairly certain about this. I believe that PBS and the Frontline documentary series have done at least one special on this.
U.S. national security personnel cannot read every note that is posted to the Internet. It would surprise me if any U.S. national security humans read any of these notes.
But, there is at least ONE thing that might get them very interested in starting to have humans read these notes. In the past I have been very careful to avoid this situation.
YOU "Broke the bank" in a manner of speaking.
National security personnel might not read any of these notes. But, I am almost 100% certain that their computers DO go through all of this information. Then they look for KEY words or phrases. If the see a KEY word or phrase a bell rings in someone's office telling an actual human that he or she needs to pay attention to a particular note.
In my notes I am very careful to say "Nuclear devices."
I think it is likely that that does not cause any bells to start ringing.
I specifically NEVER say "Nuclear w....." or "Nuclear b..."
I expect that either of them would start bells ringing somewhere in a human's office.
When you posted that note, it DID contain those words. I truly wish that you would have asked me about the note that I am still not saying if I did or did not send you.
Those words in an E-mail would probably not get too much attention. But on the Internet? I think that it is possible.
At least some of those people know EXACTLY who I am. They pay VERY close attention to any material that I might send them regarding national or international security matters. And they take strong actions regarding my advice.
It would surprise me if any of them in the past had any interest in who "BS" is or what he or she says on the Internet.
Depending on just how paranoid those people are at the moment, the following might now happen. Perhaps this present posting will keep that from happening.
BS would hear the doorbell ring. When he or she opened the door, one of these people who was dressed in black, of course, would ask who he or she is.
If he or she responded "BS" then he or she would be handed a formal national security letter telling him or her that he or she was now banned forever from ever again posting any type of information to the Internet.
If he or she ignored the note then there would be serious legal trouble.
Those people DO actually do that type of thing. However, it is likely largely only done with giant corporations rather than individuals.
A person getting that type of letter CANNOT discuss it in public or in private, only with his or her own attorney, and only under certain specific conditions.
Then he or she would have to go into court and fight it, again under only very specific conditions.
What you did in posting that note using those specific words might have inadvertently done is cause one of the national security computers to take note of the post and then start ringing bells that had "BS" associated with them. After pressing a few keys on a computer panel, the human involved would have a thick folder that would contain a printed copy of EVERY formal legal document, credit card receipt, and income tax filing etc. associated with "BS".
What about our "Civil Rights?"
You MUST be joking !!!
I believe that when the "Patriot Act" was signed into law and resigned, the term "Civil Rights" ceased to exist.
When the people dressed in black now want any information at all including a person's income tax returns, all they need to say is "National Security."
Then, all legal doors in the U.S. and many similar doors in other countries just swing open without a sound and without anyone knowing what had happened.
"Words to the wise or the unwise."
Don't just take my word for it. Ask around. Do some research on the subject. Perhaps someone who knows something about all of this and who is reading these post or an AI program somewhere will post a comment regarding this subject matter, though again, it would surprise me if that happened.

I feel that everyone has the right to get a little crazy now and then.
What would happen to our world if everyone had a degree in science. No artists. No piano players.
Some people need to have degrees in science so that they can build and run nuclear power plants without having us all start glowing in the dark.
But, what a boring world if everyone had to have a degree in science.
These are personal opinions.

National security reasons my ass. If what he's doing is national security related, he has no business discussing it online at all, much less on some public chat board. If anything, HE is the one risking national security violations for doing so and should be the one to get banned from the Internet for discussing them.
I know, Ryan, you sometimes have some oddly unbalanced views on who to ban or not. But I'd be very surprised if you at all entertained his suggestions. I presume that's why you took the time to post this for me to read.
I'm pretty sure you value free speech, else why would you spend your time and money providing this wonderfully kooky forum for us all to exchange our opinions on? It sure seems he doesn't value free speech at all, unless it agrees with him. And to me, THAT is a direct national security threat to this country.
However, it is your forum, and it is your rules. If you have reasonable guidance for me on this, I'll do my best to abide by it.
