Subject: Site Usage Queston For Ryan - July 10, 2023 |

Hi Ryan,
The effort I have been discussing regarding getting computer programmers to translate my Perl language Earthquake Forecasting computer program to a newer language is moving along. It is amazing how many details are involved with this. That is the present reason for the slowdown.
The Web page related to this that I mentioned is now done but has not yet been uploaded to my Web site.
QUESTIONS:
This Rock & Roll forum appears to work well for actual earthquake forecasts. I don't want to have the computer programmers I will be working with post notes to this forum because other people's forecasts might get lost in all the posts.
Is there a relatively unused board on this site where the computer programmers can post notes?
Should I just check all of the boards and select one myself?
Eventually, or even immediately, the computer programmers might choose a different Web site or resource where they can all post notes. But it might help if a forum page presently on this site made it possible for them to communicate with one another from the start of the project.
This should eventually and perhaps even quickly become one of the most important earthquake, geology, and celestial mechanics programs ever developed.
It will show where the sun and moon are in the sky and how their and the planets' gravitational forces affect things here on Earth and in our solar system.
The program will generate real-time 3D images of the Earth, its continents, where earthquakes are occurring and where they have occurred in the past
It will collect, process, and display Solar Storm, Cosmic Ray, and weather data. I had a discussion regarding all of this with a professional weather forecaster about a week ago.
Much of the programming work has already been done. The routines simply need to be translated to the new program. Each of those steps should take very, very little time once the project gets underway.
Personally, I think that all of this will quickly become a really interesting effort that might involve researchers around the world.
These are personal opinions.
Regards to all,
EQF

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the response.
The Science/Technology board will be the one to use.
I had visited each of your boards myself and decided to use that one if you did not make a different recommendation.
The next step will be to get some computer programmers interested in this project. That is going to be the goal of my work today.
It is too bad that Roger has reached an age where he apparently no longer does any programming work. He helped with this effort in the past and would probably be interested in getting involved with the new project.
It should be interesting to see if any funding for the project will eventually become available from private, nonprofit, or government groups.
Regards to all,
EQF
