Subject: Note For Mr. Bopp - June 15, 2023

Posted By EQF On June 15, 2023

The following are personal opinions.

As will be stated in the final section of this note, I wanted to check with you regarding this earthquake forecasting subject before moving to the next step.

FIRST,

I have to say that it amazes me how long the Boppin forum has been running.

I believe that my QUAKENET forum was established earlier in time. In fact, it was likely the first earthquake related forum in all of history. It basically used the same computer program that runs the Boppin forum.

The Boppin forum was created some time after QUAKENET.

QUAKENET eventually evolved into 2 Earthwaves forums. One of them was a Yahoo forum. For all practical purposes, it eventually went out of existence for lack of use.

So, that is a little bit of history regarding earthquake forums.

SECOND,

The NEXT act regarding earthquake history (that I myself have some control over) is about to get underway if all goes according to plan.

This involves a translation effort related to my earthquake forecasting computer program.

That computer program performs 2 different functions.

Function 1

It uses sun and moon location in the sky information plus ocean tide crest and trough location information plus Solid Earth Tide crest and trough information to determine what forces controlled the exact time that a fairly powerful earthquake occurred.

Roger helped create the program’s sun and moon location subroutine. It took probably six months of effort for us to create it.

Lower magnitude earthquake occurrence times are likely associated with so many forces that with the present “State Of The Art,” it might be impossible to determine exactly why they occurred at a specific times.

In contrast, it IS possible to tell why the higher magnitude earthquakes occurred when they occurred. That information has already been formally published to some extent. One of those publications appears to have been based on my discoveries though I was not referenced in it.

From what Roger told me, formal scientific papers that I myself have published (not related to earthquakes) have been referenced by scientific services and scientists around the world many millions of times.

It astonished me when he told me that. I have never checked on that myself.

Function 2

The computer program enables its user to enter the times when certain types of electromagnetic signals were detected. It then provides a list of as many earthquakes as desired that had triggering characteristics that were similar to the processes that caused the signals to be generated.

THIRD,

I DO actually know how to force the U.S. government and U.S. government scientists to learn how to forecast earthquakes and how to force them to start doing that. However, there are usually some risks associated with forcing the U.S. to do anything.

One of the risks is that you can waste lots of time.

For one example,

For years I tried to get the U.S. government to create a group of human shaped robots that could go into damaged nuclear power plants and fix problems or at least determine what was happening inside the plants.

Different versions of these robots could go into burning buildings where it was unsafe for human firefighters, then locate people, perhaps help them get into large rectangular boxes where they would have oxygen and safety from the flames for a while, and then if possible, drag the boxes out of the burning building with a person safely inside each one.

You have to have an especially good background in physics to be able to invent things like that because there could be heat and water problems involved. The robots would need to be designed to work under those conditions.

Additionally, in nuclear power plants, the robots would also need to be able to keep working where there were high radiation levels that could and DO quickly fry normal electronic circuits.

I believe that I finally got the U.S. government to take an interest in developing some type of human shaped robot. I believe that the following robot might have eventually resulted from that effort.

https://www.bostondynamics.com/atlas

I can’t be sure that that is the case. But I believe that it is likely.

I don’t think that THAT type of robot would be able to work for very long in a burning building or a nuclear power plant. Radiation in the nuclear power plant could and likely would destroy its electronics systems and other systems fairly quickly.

Also, it does not have the right design.

A more appropriate robot would be the one that an Elon Musk group recently unveiled.

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-63100636

However, that type of robot would also not last for long in a high radiation environment.

The results were that in spite of all of my efforts over quite a few years, because I did not personally supervise this nuclear power plant and burning building robot project, human shaped robots that could work under those conditions don’t yet exist.

There is actually one unusual type of robot that CAN work in a nuclear power plant. It was designed by researchers in Japan. But it does not have a human shape.

The robots would need to have a human shape because they would need to be able to do things that humans can do such as climb stairs, turn valves, and press buttons.

For another example wasted time,

Shan who posts notes here might have one of the best earthquake forecasting programs ever developed. It would be inexpensive and easily used by people around the world.

But in spit of all of my extensive efforts over the years in notes posted here and elsewhere and sent to him by E-mail, I have not yet been able to get him to do the even relatively simple things that would enable governments and people around the world to make effective use his program.

FOURTH,

The earthquake effort that is hopefully about to get underway involves my earthquake forecasting computer program.

The program is already fully operational. But it is written using Perl. It needs to be translated to a more widely used computer language and have some type of government or university group supporting the effort. Then governments around the world would be willing to use it.

I believe that I have a group of experienced computer programmers who can and would be willing to do the translation. I am now getting ready to contact them.

Getting the translation finished is going to take a lot of my time because my existing computer program has more than 13,000 lines of Perl code. Also, the development effort has been underway for so many years and even decades that I can no longer remember how some of the program’s subroutines work. It was created by adding layers upon layers and is enormously complex.

One Perl language expert told me that it was “The ugliest Perl program ever written.”

A person should strive to be the best in the world at whatever he or she does.

With humor intended, It that is not possible, then a suitable alternative is to be the WORST in the world at something. According to that Perl language expert, I have already achieved that goal.

FINALLY,

The present plan is once I have enough programmers to help with this, I will begin posting sections of computer code on my personal earthquake forecasting Web site.

If you don’t object, a note telling people that a given section is available will be posted to this forum. When the translation for that section of code is done, another note will be posted here.

Over a year period of time, perhaps this would hopefully involve only a few dozen posts to this forum.

There can already be that many posts here for just one significant earthquake.

I thought I would check to make sure that you were good with this before I started telling people to visit the forum and read the posts.

This effort will likely change the shape of the world for earthquake forecasting efforts. It should be quite interesting for people around the world to see the effort gradually evolve.

Regards to all,

EQF

i think it is fine for you to invite people here to discuss earthquake predicting and peruse your code and such...i am essentially retired from programming as it does not interest me anymore, but continue to run these forums as an informal place to gather in a fairly moderate and safe environment to interact and debate...but as you have probably observed, i do not cotton to nonsense...

Subject: Computer Program Update - June 17, 2023

Posted by EQF on June 17, 2023

Hi Ryan - Mr. Bopp,

Thanks for the response. I thought that you might be favorable to the plan I outlined.

There are several major updates scheduled for the computer programming plan I outlined. They will be discussed towards the end of this posting.

But first, a few questions for you if you are interested and a few details regarding other matters.

Just out of curiosity, if you are willing to share this information, where did "Earthboppin" and "Mr. Bopp" come from?

One would have to admit that they are somewhat unusual for an Earth Changes forum name etc. I would expect that there was some logical reason for your selecting those names.

Were you the original person who started the forum?

Again, just out of curiosity, what is your background with computer programming?

Roger originally worked for the USGS as a computer programmer. His one degree in science was in a different field. He was not formally trained as a programmer.

I got started with the old IBM computers with punch cards and then DEC PDP 8 series minicomputers with teletype paper tape readers, then high speed paper tape readers, then magnetic tapes, and finally with external hard drives that were 1 megabyte in size.

Machine code was my first minicomputer programming language followed by BASIC when it finally became available.

OTHER DETAILS

In case he reads this, Shan really needs to explain to me how his sunlight shadow earthquake forecasting program calculations are done. That would be about the only way I could help him. I am good at keeping things secret.

I saw the explanation of how Jack Cole's forecasting program works. Part of it might be valid. But it has some mathematics parts that don't appear to me to match our physical world.

This is one of the reasons that at the present time, serious science researchers and inventors need to have the equivalent of at least one degree in physics.

I recently stated that VERY clearly and emphatically both in public and in private to a U.S. House member.

Global technologies are presently so advanced that a degree in physics would be an absolute minimum. The worlds of only partially formally educated Galileo, Thomas Edison, and Nicholas Tesla ended long ago.

I did know who (the late) Jim Berkland was. The first formal book about his work that I am aware of was written by author Cal Orey who also writes cookbooks.

She used my subject matter outline for the book and interviewed some of the earthquake researchers I told her about. Her original book outline seemed somewhat primitive to me. It took me quite a while to get her to change her outline plans.

It was a number of years before I realized that there was a connection between her cookbook writing and her "Pen name" Cal Orey. I don't know what her original name was. I never asked her.

Working with its geologist authors, I also personally translated one book named:

Tilts, Global Tectonics And Earthquake Prediction

from an unreadable form of English to the final published version.

That took me a good part of a year. I am not a geologist and had to guess regarding some of the things they talked about. Plus, in the original manuscript they had sentences that must have been 500 words long. Each of them had to be deciphered and then broken into much more readable shorter sentences.

If I had ever brought a report card home during elementary school or high school that had a grade above "C" in English, my family members would have gone into shock. So, it can probably be imagined what quality my book translation to readable English had.

Regarding foolishness, if you visit my Web site and look around you will find a list of my present projects. It is due for a major update.

My single most important project that is not yet mentioned on that Web page involves keeping us all out of a global war.

I believe that I can provide a 100% guarantee the U.S. government and other governments will use the plans for that which I intend to send them. The first formal letter regarding those plans is scheduled to be addressed to the U.N. Secretary-General.

World governments are already using one such plan that I circulated many years ago. These new recommendations will provide governments with some major updates for that first plan.

Earthquake Forecasting is considered to be "foolishness" by many scientists and government officials. Those same people would probably not consider "staying out of a global war" to be foolishness.

When it comes to foolishness, no one should ever underestimate U.S. government officials and even many members of the international scientific community.

People are undoubtedly aware of that most recent U.S. government security breach reportedly involving a National Guard member who was only 21 years of age and who was also not working as a spy for some other government. Rather, he was just trying to impress his friends regarding the access he had to classified documents.

I was absolutely stunned when I read one news report that stated that there are currently some 1.2 million people in the U.S. who have a "Top Secret" level security clearance.

It is no wonder the U.S. government can't keep anything a secret.

FLYING SAUCERS

Just for fun:

in spite of all the "leaked" news coming out regarding secret U.S. government programs, it would be difficult for me to believe that there could be any living creatures from other planets involved. Unless they have learned how to travel faster than light it would probably take them thousands of years to get here.

Would any intelligent creature want to travel in space for thousands of years, even if suspended animation were possible?

They might arrive from their long sleep only to discover that a giant rock had hit the Earth and all forms of life had vanished.

DART was just an attempt to see if large space rocks can be deflected. It didn't guarantee that we could actually do that.

Robot ships launched thousands of years ago and finally visiting our planet would of course be possible and reasonable. But I personally haven't yet seen any clear evidence that anyone has found any.

Perhaps the best argument against Flying Saucers from other planets is the fact that the U.S. government doesn't seem to be able to keep anything a secret for very long, much less for a hundred years or more.

MY EARTHQUAKE FORECASTING COMPUTER PROGRAM

Some time after I have contacted the computer programming groups who might be willing to help translate my program to their language I intend to tell international new service personnel about the effort.

That should help insure that the work will actually get done.

I don't plan to tell them about the Boppin forum. I would expect that you already have your hands full with running it as it is.

Before contacting those programming groups I am going to store a working Perl language version of the program on my Web site. There is presently an older version there.

Those group members will then be able to download and store a version of it on an old and "safe" computer and see how it works for themselves. That should be helpful to their efforts.

It should be almost impossible for them to understand the code itself as it was written by adding layers to layers of code. I myself don't even remember how all of the layers work.

Additionally, the Perl program stores earthquake forecasting data on a hard drive, then stores a group of Gnuplot commands in a .gnu file, and finally tells Gnuplot to start running and create a .png file.

After it compiles, Perl still runs one command at a time. That is extremely slow.

I can creat .exe versions of my Perl language program. But they work by storing a version of the actual Perl compiler in the program. That makes the .exe programs immense in size.

Still, in my opinion, they are better than the TrueBasic programs Roger used to create even though his programs were compact and fast .exe programs.

The new language has the ability to do all of those things by itself.

Many of my program's subroutines end by using "GoTo" commands to other locations. Perl can do that without getting confused. However, that is not the way that professional computer programmers like to end subroutines. GoTo commands like that seem to drive them out of their minds.

Roger greatly disliked my computer code that did that on a regular basis.

My program uses a 5.1 version of Perl from a long time ago. I never moved to a newer version because that version is totally portable. It can be copied and run from a computer drive, SSD computer memory, an external hard drive, and a flash drive. And I understand how its commands work.

In theory my program and Perl could also run from a Read/Write CD. But that would be impractical as the Writes would be so slow.

If I have this correct, Read/Write CDs work by changing the disk surface bit chemicals that the laser can see. That chemical process can be reversed a certain number of times.

Permanent CDs and DVDs work by changing the depth (burning) of a bit on the disk's plastic surface. Once a disk is "burned" it can't be changed.

Hard Drives generally work by creating small magnetic spots or bits on the disk surface. There are very large numbers of separate magnetic specks associated with each bit.

It would likely be very dangerous for a hard drive "bit" to be represented by just a single magnetic spec. The "spec" might accidentally reverse polarity and make the the entire program or data file useless.

These are personal opinions.

Regards to all,

EQF

Just out of curiosity, if you are willing to share this information, where did "Earthboppin" and "Mr. Bopp" come from?

out of thin air basically...i was trying to come up with something after JOB shut down his boards...i already had an email address of halebopp_surfer after the comet cruised through in 95, and i am a big fan of jazz, early jazz, aka bop...and the always liked that movie, the warriors, where the DJ says, okay boppers, mbla bla bla...and since we are all bopping along on this rock hurtling through space, it just popped into my head one day...mr bopp came though in a similar non-linear fashion...

One would have to admit that they are somewhat unusual for an Earth Changes forum name etc. I would expect that there was some logical reason for your selecting those names.

Were you the original person who started the forum?

yes...earthboppin that is...using the same forum software that JOB used on the old syzygy boards...but it is all patterned after his boards, with some minor additions and subtractions...there is more info on the FAQ board, link on the main menu page...

Again, just out of curiosity, what is your background with computer programming?

i went back to college in 1989...computers were just starting to come on the scene...took some classes in BASIC and had a knack for it...graduated in 92 with a degree in physics, and minors in math and computer programming...then the internet started becoming a reality...it was the wild west...really fun...learned a bunch of web languages, html,. php, PERL, javascript...got a job with a start-up and became a senior software engineer with exodus and then cable and wireless...was doing a lot of SQL to pull data out of huge databases and then format it for web pages...then the bubble burst and i went back to being a carpenter...

All of that is fantastic information.

Thanks for answering the questions. I am certain that all of your Web site visitors are glad to hear those details, especially me for a variety of reasons.

The main reason is the news that you have a degree in physics.

That means that I could post notes to one of your Web pages discussing particle entanglement, quantum tunneling, and parallel universes.

Right?

Not! Just a joke.

However, I have a 95% understanding rating with the SpaceTime podcasts.

When the host gets into into those complex wave equations I stop listening before illness sets in.

With a degree in physics you might like the following Web page:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYWrtUK2TnM

For some reason, that information about Heisenberg never gets discussed when you get a degree in science.

The following is another Web page that scientists should know about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdEE5uvFhOM

Yet another one discusses that incident involving a U.S. government California area nuclear energy and rocket engine development complex that reportedly deliberately released radioactive gas into the atmosphere at a reported lose of perhaps 300 lives in the area.

People can find the gas release Web pages on their own.

Unfortunately, many scientists around the world have or had Jekyll/Hyde type personalities and careers.

These are personal opinions.

Forecasting earthquakes is not my most important humanitarian project though it is the one that I have spent the most time on over the decades.

On my Web site, there is a list of humanitarian projects that I am working on. The list is due for a major update.

Another project where I wasted a certain amount of time involved trying to get the U.S government to develop an effective plan for dealing with Covid-19.

Having no true sense of direction, the people involved ignored my advice. As a consequence, many lives that might have been saved around the world and here in the U.S. were unfortunately lost.

These are personal opinions.
