My Aussie is behaving strangely. He will not go into the living room -- all new furniture+...It's weird. B4 Loma Prieta my indoor cat would not come indoors after the early Aug. foreshock...not till after Oct. 17.
One sensitive (very good) asked me on FB if I sensed anything because she was the other day. Just a 2.8 in the East Bay today.

Hi Cal,
Welcome to the Earthboppin forum. I can't remember ever seeing you post a note here before.
I will post a longer note as soon as time permits.
An E-mail was sent to you earlier today to remind you of who I am. I use EQF when posting notes here (EarthQuake Forecasting) because of my work as a disaster management professional.
Governments around the world make extensive use of my free disaster management advice. They are happy with my not using my actual name with Internet posts because certain subjects such as earthquake forecasting can be controversial. If I remain nameless with my Internet work then when I talk with various governments they don't have to possibly deal with any of these controversial subjects.
Roger, who posts notes here now and then and I are in the middle of an interesting computer programming project that is intended to help various computer languages become dramatically more powerful. To start, we are developing the computer code for True Basic.
The initial work regarding that has already been done. At this time I just need to get some time free to add some code to the original program and then send it to Roger so that he can customize it for the way he likes to write True Basic programs.
Take care,
EQF

Hi Mr. Bopp and all,
In past postings I proposed that if you wanted to get really serious about earthquake forecasting then a good way to do that would be to create a special board with this forum that would allow only approved researchers to post notes.
Scientists and other researchers don't like to get into heated public arguments with other people. The general rules with that special board would make it so that they wouldn't get into arguments with anyone.
For example, I have been talking for a while with researchers around the world regarding the impact that solar storms have on earthquake occurrence times.
It appears clear now that earthquake occurrence times can be strongly affected by solar storm proton density.
This is an extremely important topic for earthquake research and forecasting.
No one appears to be certain at this time regarding the nature of the interaction mechanism. That should not be difficult to determine. People just need to do the basic research.
However, the international researchers involved with the original solar proton density work are not exactly happy with past events. Different groups are claiming that THEY were the ones who originally discovered the nature of these interaction relationships.
So, that is an example of how easily arguments can get started even between even experienced scientists.
Anyway, Cal is someone who would have been automatically allowed to post notes to the special board.
She has published several books about earthquake forecasting and is a highly regarded author for cooking books.
I assume that this is why she uses "Cal Orey" with her work.
These are personal opinions.

Did any of you know that Cal devoted several pages of one of her books to my evaluation method?
It's a fact! I was very flattered to be included.

Funny how a book that's supposed to be about Jim Berkland talks mostly about the author instead. I couldn't finish it. The further into the book I read the more ridiculous it got.
But speaking of autographed books, I have an autographed copy of Earthshaking Science by Susan Hough. Met her in person at a book signing and presentation Q&A. Both Roger and I are mentioned.

But both are by Hough.

Don't run off to buy it just yet. I may be misremembering.
I don't have access to my copy of the book right now but a google books search does not turn up your name in the book, although it does mine. (and also Petra and Don)
On the other hand, it is still a good read.

I found this after observing dog's odd behavior and was trying to find out what other folks were saying. Of course, reports like this are a head's up -- but usually fizzle unless there is an aggressive swarm or quake in a super vulnerable spot... and other anomalies happening.

Ty... Just got a message from someone in the East Bay...sure a 2.8 the other day but? Did u see the news Mar 4 saying any day for something big in CA? All we need now is for that to happen. Berkland always said Apr is a good month for quakes...We know the great AK quake happened in Mar, right? Air quality at Tahoe is poor -- feeling headache/sore throat from that. But my dog not wanting to go into the spacious living room is freaking me out. Like my late indoor cat. It's just too weird. And the new Siamese cat/Aussie are too clingy with each other & me.

My 79 year old uncle who lives in Sacramento, called a few days ago and said for the first time he is feeling something big is coming also. I try to talk to him once a week and he has never said anything like this before. Emy posted over on groans the same thing, like mimici/socal said. Stay safe!
