EARTHQUAKE ADVISORY Posted by EQF on August 31, 2020 Please see the General Information section of this Earthquake Advisory for a discussion of this advisory. Please avoid posting responses to this Advisory unless you can supply some information regarding the time and location for this expected earthquake. Other comments can be made to my other Earthquake Forecasting Update note being posted at this same time. These are personal opinions. TIME WINDOW - Based on the nature of the electromagnetic signals (EM Signals) that have been detected during the past few weeks plus the locations of the sun and the moon in the sky, there is a 50% chance that this expected earthquake will occur by September 3, 2020. If it has not occurred by then, then it will likely generate additional EM Signals before it does occur. If possible those signals will then be discussed in updates. LOCATION - The southwest Pacific Ocean area including Indonesia and Philippines areas presently look most likely for this expected earthquake. MAGNITUDE - This will depend on the earthquake’s depth. Generally, the deeper it is, the higher the magnitude it would need to have for it to generate these types of EM Signals. If it occurs near a populated area it should be sufficiently powerful to cause some problems. GENERAL INFORMATION My forecasting efforts involve circulating Earthquake WARNINGS, ADVISORIES, AND ALERTS. WARNINGS are the most serious. A WARNING proposes that a powerful and significant earthquake is likely approaching. ADVISORIES are less serious. They propose that either the approaching earthquake is not expected to be highly significant or the forecast data are not that clear regarding what is taking place. ALERTS are the least serious. The propose that an earthquake could be approaching that might be of interest to some people such as earthquake researchers. Data available through my earthquake forecasting Web pages can be used to try to better determine the location and occurrence time for an expected earthquake. It would be impossible for me to watch for everyone’s earthquakes. If it appears that one might be headed for an area where an earthquake forecaster lives, then there should be additional earthquake precursor signals that can be detected around the same time as the EM Signals that I work with. EARTHQUAKE ADVISORY UPDATE Posted by EQF September 4, 2020 The following earthquake occurred within the expected time window that ended on September 3, 2020. 2020/09/01 04:09:28 27.97S 71.30W 23 6.8 "85 km NW of Vallenar, Chile" The earthquake had a Magnitude and a Depth that were consistent with the intensity of the EM Signals that had been detected during the earlier weeks. The line peak shape for the earthquake shown on the picture file below matches the line peak shapes for recent Averaged EM Signals. That is believed to be an indicator that the Chile earthquake was likely responsible for some and perhaps most of the EM Signals that were recently detected.
Multiple EM Signals had been detected and it is possible that some of them were pointing to seismic activity at other locations. Southwest Pacific Ocean locations are suspect. Earthquake activity is being watched to see if any earthquakes in those areas match some of the EM Signals. High intensity EM Signal activity stopped around August 28, 2020. The occurrence times for the EM Signals were consistent with geomagnetic storm activity around that time. That often happens. The geomagnetic storm activity stopped in early September, 2020. Recommendation: Earthquake researchers should check their records to see if other earthquake precursors were being detected in the vicinity of that Chile earthquake in late August of 2020. Past studies indicate that this would have been likely. These are personal opinions. Regards to all, EQF |
