Hi EMY,
My estimate is that perhaps 1 person in 1000 can hear fairly loud Ear Tones. That includes some scientific personnel that I know.
Most people probably believe that they are related to the weather or some type of hearing disorder.
Everyone seems to be different. Two people who can hear them can be standing next to one another. One person will hear them and the other will not.
They can often be heard in one ear or the other, or in some cases both ears at the same time.
Some people hear higher frequency tones up around 7000 cycles per second. Others hear tones that are down around 20 cycles per second or less. They reportedly sometimes sound like fog horns.
Over the years there have been some interesting stories circulated regarding the low frequency Ear Tones and submarine radio communications.
Regards,
EQF

This is some additional information.
Over the years I have evaluated quite a few Ear Tones that were heard by people around the world.
The higher pitched ones can apparently be heard by many people for earthquakes that could occur on the opposite side of the planet. They are often not associated with just local earthquakes.
Regards,
EQF
