Woke up yesterday AM to ducks in a pond in my backyard and all our cars in the parking lot covered in rainwater from the creek next door overflowing.
All of us on the ground level were told to evacuate. Got Gracie in her carrier, food, my meds, change of clothes, cellphone charger, tax docs all ready to go. Requested emergency assistance since I am disabled. Found a friend who I could crash with.
But water started to recede and emergency officials never made it to the back of our apartment complex. There is a slight upward slope to the back, and the water started receding here quicker.
Waiting for updates for this AM. But just cleaned out Gracie's litter box, cleaning her water bowl and setting out her food. Gracie's had enough of this adventure. She wants no more. She wants out of her carrier.

gosh, that is so scary, glad you and kitty are safe, praying for you and all hon, these storms are something else! we had snow on friday, then had had downpours, with a little break today. stay safe, glad you had a friend to go stay with, its so much harder when one is disabled, i know all to well! hugs, kay🫶

sounds harrowing...so glad the waters started to recede.
Very concerned your requests for evacuation didn't seem
to be acted on in a timely manner!
The big pacific winter storms should be slowing down
soon. I know we got nearly a foot of snow last
thursday..another storm coming in tonight.
I'm assuming gracie is your kitty?
What a nerve-wracking situation. Hugs to you and Gracie.
