"I wonder if future generations will look back in
bewilderment that citizens allowed themselves to be taxed
to build sports stadiums that billionaires then charged
us to enter for the sake of cheering for millionaires to
play kids games whose outcomes distract us from getting
robbed by rich people for things just like this..."

ummmmm that makes me go way back in time when coliseums were built, likely by slave labor so that the masses (rich?)...could watch whatever event was happening at the time.so this is not a new thing...i have wondered about all the great structures all over the world werent built with slave labor?you know they wouldn't have been paid well!

How and when exactly did sports get to be so expensive?
But its not just sports. Have you bought tickets to a
concert lately? I went to concerts a lot in the early
1970s for $10 or $15 dollars for top-notch bands. Now its
hundreds of dollars. Its very disheartening. Its all a
rich persons thing anymore

nope, in the 70's went to a lot of concerts - in Harford,
Boston, Miami, Dallas and Los Angeles...last concert I
went to was 1989 in Seattle/Tacoma .... but now a days
far too expensive for my budget.

I wonder since big concerts use the same venue as sports
that has driven the pricing. Who really knows its all
