we couldn't believe voters could be dumb enough to vote for the rump...but turns out they are...according to nyt reporting today, 50% of voters in this election are educated to a sixth grade level or less...hard to overcome that kind of ignorance and inability to think logically or rationally...that is the distracted by shiny objects level...you know, the kind of people the orange turd can relate to...8 year olds...people like ot...lol...the other major factor was turnout...the dim turnout was quite a bit less than in 2020...hard to believe also but dems da facts...

I've seen several of these articles. One reason, another, and they are all true except for one thing, all do not recognize the veracity of the others. All were weaponized chaos, and where it did not exist it was fantasized into existence, from one segment to another group. The messaging changed as the targets, and each heard what they cared about the most as being delivered by the fascists and denied by Democrats.
*****************
"autocrats throughout history have understood, as the Joker put it in The Dark Knight, that if you "introduce a little anarchy” and upset the established order, “everything becomes chaos.” And they always find ways to weaponize that chaos to serve their own ends. The way, say, that Chinese Communist Leader Mao Zedong unleashed the calamitous social and political chaos of the Cultural Revolution to destroy his enemies and reassert his own control over the Communist Party. But those are the people who are likely the poorest, who work for minimum wage, who can't afford healthcare and are most affected by inflated food costs. Which Kamala Harris campaign largely ignored. When will those DNC geniuses get a clue?

could you post that NY times poll? I'd like to see the whole thing.
excerpt 'Bernie Sanders blasts Democratic Party following Kamala Harris loss Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders issued a scathing statement on what he called the Democratic Party's "disastrous" campaign after Vice President Kamala Harris lost the presidential election to former President Donald Trump.
The independent, who caucuses with Democrats, said it "should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them."
MORE: Exit poll analysis 2024: Trump leverages economic discontent, extends his appeal -- and breaks the mold
"First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well," Sanders continued in his statement. "While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they're right."
The longtime progressive champion, who ran for president in 2016 and 2020, reflected on the ways Americans continue to experience economic instability, from income and wealth inequality to a lack of guaranteed paid family and medical leave.
Sanders also criticized continued spending on military aid to Israel."

Here are some real numbers and not imaginary numbers that show only 15% of voters never attended college and 43% are college graduates. People need to stop believing what they hear on the tube.

also, a full review of actually voters and trends are still being compiled, and exit polls have been notorious for not being completely accurate.
I would suggest waiting for now. Theorizing is great, but careful of "exit poll" information and read them with a skeptical eye.

i'll see your numbers and raise them with my real numbers ot...times article is behind a paywall...
....
According to a meme recently shared with the Snopes newsroom, more than half of people living in the United States between the ages of 16 and 74 read below a sixth-grade level:
We investigated this statistic, as well as the assertion that the U.S. ranks 125th for literacy when compared with other nations around the world. Though both statements are true to some degree, we took a closer look at the data — and how it was compiled — to gain a more thorough understanding of the limitations associated with conducting such wide-scale, generalizing studies. Do More Than Half of Americans Read Below a 6th-Grade Level?
This claim is true, according to a review of the U.S. education system that was conducted in September 2020. Let's explore.
A Gallup analysis published in March 2020 looked at data collected by the U.S. Department of Education in 2012, 2014, and 2017. It found that 130 million adults in the country have low literacy skills, meaning that more than half (54%) of Americans between the ages of 16 and 74 read below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level, according to a piece published in 2022 by APM Research Lab.:
The 2020 Gallup estimates were part of an economic analysis that used literacy rates to determine missed and potential financial gains. It was based on data from an international assessment of adult skills called the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) and the U.S. Department of Education. The analysis combined individual PIAAC data from 2012 to 2017 to create and publish estimated literacy levels for every county in the U.S.
"The U.S. Department of Education combined assessment data from three sample waves (2012, 2014 and 2017), using data from 12,330 respondents living in 185 counties. The research team then modelled the literacy scores, which means they gathered a large amount of data about each respondent and his or her county to predict that respondent's literacy score," read the report.

it's also people who have "checked out", which is why one of the top google searches on election day was "Did Joe Biden drop out?"
Many are disconnected from news and information. Maybe because they don't have time, too busy, or simply hate any political talk.
Problem is, whether they're paying attention or not, there are things going on in that world that will directly affect them.
If they don't at least keep at least a brief tether to the news, they will wake up going "I'm sorry? When did that happen? And why do I suddenly have to ...(fill in the blank)"
While phone banking, I ran into voters who had no clue who the candidates were at all. One person brought up past president Obama and said he was voting republican because Obama was a republican and that was the last president he liked.
I don't think many here who discuss and share news whether right or left, have any idea how many Americans don't watch news, have no interest in politics (even though both those things can very much affect their lives). These are those so called low information voters.
