It’s an overwhelming victory solely for those who want to see the very lowest aspects of human character in positions of control over human beings…and you can do your best to deflect from that fact, but that IS what you’ve voted in, and there’s literally nothing you can do to make that *other than what it is* — not with words, not with laws, not with guns, not with en-masse coercion, not with bombs…
Evil is evil, end of. By whatever name you give it…

On inauguration day, if he survives until then. Be shocked if attempt #3 is taken by the usual lefty lunatics. Apparently that's okay on this board. Shame. You all protected Obama day 1 like some golden calf, now he's being asked to step aside. Everything he did (wasn't free he was paid), was to keep The Machine in charge.
Instead, a convicted felon got elected twice. America must be pretty po'd right now, about being lied to nonstop for 4 years.
Apparently the white supremacist movement has a burgeoning nationwide presence, affecting not just the Democrat led counties like Miami-Dade, but also drawing in unsuspecting black men, and Hispanics jn droves. They'll never learn, but now that CNN and Fox have a reason to exist again for at least 4 more years, maybe 8, but anything could happen. There's already talk of camps. Just one amongst the rampant liberal tears on Twitter.
They fall like rain, angry tears, must be someone to blame, besides the guy that MADE SURE IT WOULD, Mr. Joseph R. Biden, we thank you sir, thanks for getting last laugh in, as Kamalas 2028 dreams went POOF. Now she's so much fodder for nutty Newsom.
Btw gas is going up .65 here in the state, we NEED some drill baby drill.
Thanks dems, this communist paradise is everything a comrade has grown to love.

You will pay for Donald Trump’s tariffs. Here’s proof
November 6, 2024 Several studies show that the cost of Trump's 2018 tariffs were borne almost entirely by American consumers and businesses.
Several studies show that the cost of Trump's 2018 tariffs were borne almost entirely by American consumers and businesses. Jade Gao/AFP/Getty Images/File New York CNN — If you’re inclined to roll your eyes at the stuffy academics shouting about the damage tariffs do to the economy, I get it. “Tariff” is just one of those words that makes your eyelids feel as heavy as they did in your 9 a.m. undergraduate econ class.
But if you don’t want to heed the many, many economists’ warnings about former President Trump’s fringe economic plans, take it from the people running the companies that make the stuff you buy: Prices will go up. How much and how fast is hard to know, but you can bet your bottom dollar you’ll be needing more dollars to pay for everyday goods if Trump’s sweeping tariffs are put in place.
“If we get tariffs, we will pass those tariff costs back to the consumer,” said Philip Daniele, CEO of AutoZone, on an earnings call in September.
AutoZone also won’t need to wait until the policies are enacted, Daniele noted. Once they know what the markup will be, “we generally raise prices ahead of that.”
A quick primer on tariffs: They’re a tax on imported goods — clothes, shoes, toys, car parts, appliances, you name it. But the extra money does not come from the foreign companies that produce those goods. The American company doing the importing pays the money to the US Treasury. And more often than not, that means you, the consumer, pay for the tariff.
Trump is doubling down on an unprecedented trade agenda that would, almost by definition, raise the price of imported goods from around the world.
RELATED ARTICLE Ignore the word ‘tariff’ — Trump is pitching higher taxes This isn’t speculation or theory, it’s just the way tariffs work — and we have the last six years of global trade to prove it.
In 2018, during his first term, Trump imposed tariffs of 30% to 50% on goods imported from China, forcing Beijing to retaliate with its own tariffs against US goods like aluminum, airplanes, cars, pork and soybeans. And we’ve been in a tit- for-tat trade war with China ever since.
You might not have noticed the changes all at once, and the pandemic came along to muck up supply chains and drive prices even higher. But several studies conclude that the cost of those tariffs were borne almost entirely by American consumers and businesses. By the end of 2019, the average US household paid nearly $500 more on average in a year, according to one analysis.
This time around, Trump has proposed a 20% tariff across the board on all US imports — something we’ve never seen before — and even steeper duties of 60% against China and other major trading partners. That radical policy could cost the typical middle-income US household more than $2,600 per year, according to research from Peterson Institute for International Economics.
Trump has repeatedly lied about this fact, claiming foreign entities would pay for the added costs. The most generous interpretation of Trump’s tariff plan would be that he’s trying to force US businesses to move their overseas operations back on US soil, creating jobs. But you don’t need an MBA or an econ degree to know that US labor is expensive, and that could drive prices higher.
Even if tariffs could undo decades of globalization, it likely wouldn’t have the effect Trump is hoping for.
Former President Donald Trump has called for sweeping changes on everything from trade and taxes to immigration. Yet some economists worry the US economy does not need drastic change -- and that what he's calling for could backfire. RELATED ARTICLE Harris wants to upgrade America’s economy. Trump wants to tear it down and start over Just ask Timothy Boyle, the CEO of Columbia Sportswear, who told investors recently that “the argument about tariffs improving the domestic production of items such as footwear and apparels are fallacious …. the commodities that we engage in with footwear and apparel are among the most highly tariffed in United States. Some of the product carries as much as nearly 40% duties, and that has not translated into increased investment in domestic production.”
In an interview with the Washington Post last week, Boyle was more direct, saying the company is already planning to raise prices. “We’re buying stuff today for delivery next fall. So we’re just going to deal with it and we’ll just raise the prices. … It’s going to be very, very difficult to keep products affordable for Americans.”
What do you think? Join 257 others in the comments View Comments Not all products would get an immediate price increase, to be clear. Big businesses with wider margins tend to be able to absorb at least part of the added cost before passing it on to consumers.
Consider one of Trump’s own for-profit endeavors, the Trump Bible, which the Associated Press revealed last month to be the product of a China-based printing company (not an uncommon practice in the publishing world, but ironic nonetheless for a politician who has spent years blasting China’s trade policies). The AP found the $59.99 Trump Bibles cost less than $3 per book to print.
With that kind of markup, the Trump-owned company behind the Bibles could probably swallow the cost of the president’s tariffs, plus shipping and other fees, without raising prices.
And big companies like Walmart and Target can (and do) manage to keep prices steady because, given their scale, they’re able to negotiate terms with their suppliers.
But small businesses, which employ roughly half of the American workforce, aren’t in the same position. They are often narrow-margin, high volume operations with less wiggle room on prices. Most of the time that means business either have to jack up prices or significantly cut costs — and that’s when the layoffs begin.

who are these elites? I'm a retiree on a fixed income (that may shrink or disappear in this next term). We're veterans, middle class, members of a local church and live rural. So, forgive me, but how you paint "democrats" does not fit our home, or many of my friends.
I have questions, many questions about what transpired. Most of those questions are how my countrymen were so duped by this asshole, the new felon in chief.
Like you, going on and on about inflation, then voting for the guy who is promising tariffs to bring us more inflation. How does that make sense?
So many questions, and reading your posts do not provide any answers, either. I truly fear for our country.

He's not my daddy, but I accept (unless nature intervenes) he'll probably be President Asshole again.
For those like you, it'll turn into its own consequence.
Enjoy the before-times while you have them.
My only question would be, if he betrays what you "thought" you were voting for, what he "said" he was going to do for you ...will you storm the capitol again?
It seems the only way to convince those like you is to stand back and let you have exactly what you thought you wanted and see for yourself.

You can stop by calling everyone that shares thoughts different than yours "bullshit", because that's the biggest bullshit of all.
Even your polls showed that, toward the end, Harris was polling better on the economy.
The Democrats, as I see them have (at least domestically) been coming in and cleaning up all the damage the previous GOP admin leaves. This will be no different other than, this time, the damage will be massive due to the corruption we know maga is capable of.
I have not changed my views or stand. I believe America has just made a very massive mistake.
Or, as a Canadian friend messaged me Wednesday morning her perspective from the north, "WTF is wrong with your country??"
I had to honestly tell her, "I just don't know".
Something in the water, maybe. I'm sure there will be reams of breakdowns and post-mortems if the next government allows it and they don't get banned.

Oh no, Old Timer...lol... I don't think Red nor myself nor any other Democrat will be "stopping with the bullshit," because it's NOT bullshit, and the fact that the GOP "won" this election does not equate to the GOP being "right" about ANYthing...
Never ceases to amaze me, how you imagine yourself to be the great harbinger of truth, when you can't even acknowledge that Biden's four years were the result of DJT fucking things up so profoundly during his administration... Very basic, observable fact...but you refuse to acknowledge it...
Sure, the DNC needs a lot of help, that's clear...but the values and the *humanity* that moves behind everyone who identifies with Democracy *will not be silenced* by this "election" nor by anything or anyone else...

Gallego defeats Lake in Arizona Senate race by Caroline Vakil - 11/09/24 9:00 PM ET
Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) is projected to beat Republican Kari Lake in a consequential race for Arizona Senate, dealing the former local news anchor her second straight electoral loss, according to Decision Desk HQ.
Gallego, who has served in the House for nearly a decade representing a Phoenix-based House seat, will succeed outgoing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.). Sinema opted against reelection after changing her political affiliation from Democrat to Independent last year, as Sinema faced steep odds in getting reelected.
Gallego announced his challenge to Sinema even before she made clear she would not be seeking another term, putting Senate Democrats in a temporarily awkward position of possibly having to choose which Democrat they would support.
The Arizona Democrat leaned into his biography as the son of a single mom, with family roots in Mexico and Columbia. He also touted his time in the Marines.
His victory comes as a small but significant relief for Democrats, who had a crushingly disappointing election cycle this year. Though they managed to protect their Senate seats in the battleground states of Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan, in addition to Arizona, they also lost seats in Ohio, Montana and West Virginia, and look poised to lose in Pennsylvania as well. They also lost control of the White House, while their prospects for keeping the House look exceedingly dim.
Lake is a former local news anchor who previously ran for Arizona governor in 2022, narrowly losing to Gov. Katie Hobbs (D). Lake became well known during her 2022 bid as a prominent election denier — something that came back to haunt her again during her Senate bid even as she continued to fight her 2022 loss in court.
Lake also attracted controversy over some of her remarks. She angered some Republicans for making critical statements invoking the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — statements she argued that were made in jest.
She’s previously called abortion the “ultimate sin” and cheered a now-repealed 1864 law that banned nearly all abortions in the state. Lake, this cycle, maintained she would not vote for a federal ban on abortion if elected to the Senate and said abortion restrictions should be left up to the states.
Lake faced a primary challenger in Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, though Lake was widely seen as the GOP favorite.
At the same time, Gallego also faced questions during his Senate run over his record and whether his stance on issues like immigration and the border had changed, as some have pointed to prior comments he made on the issue years ago, including calling Donald Trump’s border wall “stupid” and “dumb.”
Gallego was also a member of the House Progressive Caucus but later let his membership lapse, citing dues as the reason. Republicans sought to nationalize the race, seeking to tie Gallego to Democrats like Vice President Harris and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in ads.
