“It darkens the heart to call dark deeds’ good.’ It gives place for evil to
thrive inside us. Every war is fought both without and within.”
Galadriel

This war between darkness and light was given the green light…

Robert Graves did a 'Republic vs Empire' study.

When the Emperor Claudius had lost in his effort to
return Rome to a Republic, he set forth a new regime
with Nero.

"Let all the poison that lurks in the mud, hatch out."

And here we are. For those that remember, again.

Again. Indeed.

I'd like to suggest that we can choose to
acknowledge the possibility that cycles
which can appear repetitively circular in
nature may in fact be very slowly
spiraling upward in motion, seen only when
fitted into a bigger-picture frame...

Perhaps in this incarnation of Rome the
darkness's own momentum will ensure that
it is more fully and quickly leached out
and flushed from the soil than has ever
been possible before...

We are not the victims of those ancient
times...and we will not be broken..

Oh, I don't think empires rising and falling are
cyclical because of the similarities, just that the
qualities that create a republic when they degrade
create the vacuum for strongmen and emperors to move
in.

Humans do the same.

The outward expression of joy sure took a hit.. but toast?

Not today.. but the long term prognosis..? That's exactly what global
warming means.
