on most everyday items if those promised tariffs are
put into place Because basic economics says, tariffs =
higher consumer prices because somebody has to pay for
them. So if you thought things were expensive now, wait
until....

From the article:
"For consumers, tariffs could contribute to more
sticker shock on a wide variety of purchases — from car
repairs to toys — just as inflation cools. Some
companies, including AutoZone, have already told
investors that they will raise prices to cover the
additional costs.

"If we get tariffs, we will pass those tariff costs
back to the consumer," AutoZone CEO Philip Daniele said
on an earnings call in late September. He said the
company typically hikes prices ahead of tariffs going
into effect.

"Customers could also pay more for a six-pack of beer,
a bottle of Scotch, or even a pack of Oreos, thanks to
tariffs.

Analysts from equity research firm TD Cowen pointed to
a few at-risk companies, including Constellation
Brands, which makes its beers Corona Extra and Modelo
Especial; liquor company Diageo, which imports tequila
from Mexico and Scotch from Scotland; and Mondelez,
which makes some of its cookies and snacks in Mexico.

Shoes for adults and kids would cost more, too, if
Trump's proposed tariffs go into effect, said Matt
Priest, CEO of Footwear Distributors and Retailers of
America, a trade group that counts Nike, Walmart and
others as members.

About 99% of all footwear sold in the U.S. is made
overseas, he said, and it would be difficult to move a
meaningful chunk of that production back to the States,
even if a cost penalty is tacked on.

"Count us skeptical that there's a pathway for us to
figure out how to make two and a half billion pairs of
shoes in the U.S. every year," he said.

"The rate of inflation is declining," he said. "It
would be counterproductive to then turn around and go
back to pulling one of those inflationary levers, which
would be additional tariffs, at a time when the
consumer's telling all of us, both politically on last
night's results, as well as from a consumer
perspective: 'We don't want higher prices.'"

yes...the economy is about to tank, not only with
tariffs..but when other countries put tariffs on us and
effects our manufacturing. The suck of millions of
workers out of our economy will also hurt us. Our GDP
will plummet. They'll use that to cut even more
services and programs or eliminate even more
departments.

buckle in.

The magas just got what they wanted: to destroy
themselves along with everyone else.

Elon and Bezos will be okay, though. They and the oil
companies will get all their tax breaks and
deregulation as promised.

We'll pay for those too.

So, let's review.

Magas complained that our economy, best economy in the
world, was terrible because Trump told them so.

Trump will now slide us into a recession or maybe even
a depression to fix the best economy in the world.

He's vowed to cut overtime, get rid of unions, deport
workers (illegal and just citizens who looked like
illegals), make all those workers pay more for
everything (tariff/tax) so he can give all his buddies
and himself little or no taxes. Then if you whine,
he'll tell you to send your kids to work too, to
help..they don't need school (they'll be cutting the
education department anyway..and vouchers will not
cover a real school) and take away regulations and
protections that help keep workers safe. They'll be
cutting the aca, so many will have no insurance again
(estimated about 12 million), or will now have junk
policies that don't cover everything, so if they DO get
sick or injured because of lax work practices, they're
screwed now.

Disposable workers. Just what the oligarchs want.

Minimum wages may also be cut in red states. buh-buy
wage increases.

And without unions, you have no voice.

and don't protest it..the national guard or military
may shoot you in the leg.

Guess this is what maga wanted. They wanted Trump and
his oligarchs to screw them and their families over to
"show those libs".

Now, will they storm the capital when they find out how
duped they were?
